I've never thought of my 1m double-staffs as batons, they're so frikkin' heavy because I made them from steel, they're heavier than most big staffs, and have just as much momentum because of this =). I think of baton as those utterly light mini sticks that change direction super easily and can be thrown effortlessly etc.
