Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

since i last posted which was a matter of a few hours ago, i learnt the 7bt weave. and my arms hurt.

did it by accident first time on one side and i was 'hmmm.. there was an extra, extra sketchy circle there, lets see if i can do that again..'

and a few minutes later i did it. i never planned on learning it.

9151, or high-low shower with 4 balls.

been waiting for that one to start working biggrin

and that only took about an hour to go from 'first try' to 'pretty damn solid'.

and seeing as hexawillagonic doesn't seem to post in here i'll do it for him: 97531 - the 5b version of that last trick above eek

Right...

Some poi throwing nonsense. Some poi throw and wrapping the thing midair nonsense (works about 1 time in 5 at the moment).

Started learning clubs again on monday eek and have now got continuous doubles (almost), what you might call 6363 in eeeevil siteswap. Very bad chops. Kick ups and some other pointless nonsense.

Having trouble trying to get that 1 and a half spin flourish in in time, never seem to have finished it before the next club arrives confused

hello.

humm, its funny what happens, I started learning clubs on monday too!

clubs: cascade, 3 chops, a weird swinging thing, that one over the top, one under the arm, backcross once.... im rubbish at doubles. oh and i can catch the fat end ballanced on my hand, then flip to the thin end and back.

balls. 3 b multiplex to inside foot start. 7531 with four, today, was fun. 27 catches of 5. back of the neck catches. general happiness of going in and out of multiplexes. doctor cole, why does my 5344 always come out sync? multiplex backcosses.

contact. back of the nech handstands. inside elbow stall to outside elbow stall. did i say i learnt throw to two finger stall? backcross to outside elbow stall.

poi. finally getting all the splitime butterfly weaves, makes me realise how mental jo derry is. Trinity, and spinning witout any plains atall (which is how i ended up in trinity) and i call it strike style, becuaser your going for 360 striking points, not just on two sides. bth airwraps at about 50%+.

be cool my breateran.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY

well yesterday after getting scolded in the sun and i have the back of a lobster frown i managed to learn the forwards btb weave, Feels really comfy and i wasnt sure if i was doing it to start with but it looks good.
I also learnt my first catch. I was with some jugglers, and got som inspiration. I throw my fight swap the left poi to my right hand and catch the poi in the air with my left. Looks pretty smooth.

AND i also did fire poi for the first time.

*jumps about*

after five hours of studying biology and floaring about the house, I gave in and grabbed the poi.

Twenty minutes later...

~flower thing (when you do a windmill, and seperate your arms in front of you, and move them in a clock like motion)

~ through wrap (I think it's called) through the armpit/elbow thing.

and, last but NOT least!

**drum roll**

~ weave hyperloop with socks AND chains! Not perfect, but can get 4/5 of them!

Okay, mind you, none of them are *absolutely* perfect yet. But I can do them!!! *jumpos about*

5-beat buzzsaw weave, or at least one variation on it that isn't the notcoleman-5 smile Forwards, backwards, isolated, non-isolated and turning around in both directions. Looks really nice while turning if you isolated as you remain isolating throughout the whole turn.

1. you bastard wink once you can throw a decent 7 its easier than it looks though innit smile
don't forget 7333 and 7441...

2. do ya mean tennis (53444)?
if so it goes sync because your throws are either late or at the wrong heights.
make sure the 5 goes high, the 3 nice and low and really watch your 4's - its easy to let the second two go lower than they should be but it'll make your pattern gallop or even go completely sync.
which doesn't work.
run 534 lots too and try and keep it as on beat as you possibly can - that helps quite a bit.

i did 83333 a few times over the weekend.
but i was just lucky really.
633 and 4b stuff with my left hand has to start working first methinks wink

hug's to you lord tom

Cole... I'm now not sure whether the 5bt buzzsaw weave thingy is or isn't the notcoleman-5. I think it is, I just do it differently than you. You coming to Spitz tonight, if so I may have to hassle you for a bit biggrin

Either way, I've found airwrap and hyperloop exits from it.

yo,

thanks guys, i sorted my 5344 by myself, the 3 throw was too high, more of a 4x.

balls.... rubenstiens, finaly, its actually the easist thing ive learnt in ages. flash to neck catch to flipping it back and continue.

contact, moved everything down from a 100 stage to a 75 acrylic. which is nice.

poi. 3 beat inside weave (arashi def, with three beats outside before going in.) and 5 beat inside weave (again the arashi style one where you go inside after 5 beats, this is possibly one oth the most maloco moves ive learnt, and ill post a better description of it once i have the time+ i dont have a beach calling me.

yesterday I learned contact poi where I could keep my sock poi spinning round my arm like suicide but for 5-6 turns without touching the handle. Then finishing in a throw. Sometimes it would open up into a straight line like a staff and keep going.

Unfortunately true to form I can't get it today...but I know it's in there somewhere...just gotta find it again ubbrollsmile

Dub we gotta meet up for frissbee session sometime wink

a nice butterfly sequence:

from butterfly the 'right' way (backwards i think), move your right hand to behind your left shoulder, as youre left hand goes behind youre back, straighten out your right arm, do a 'giant' beat so youre right hand ends up behind youre right hip. as this is happening move your left poi to behind your right shoulder, and then do what you just did but wth opposite arms, and repeat.

I a betweent he legs one for the first time last night. Not sure if it was the same you were doing Ross, but it's like airwrap in front wall plane catch both heads turn 180 and then pass between legs. The 2 poi stay together way better than I thought they would probably because of weight in the handles.

Also learnt hyperloop double wrist wrap back out again.

gonna try for three up double pirooets today.

i reckon if i can get that then 5 up pirouettes cant be too far behind.

nice one on 62. i think once you get past the 40-odd barrier you're starting to understand how to correct. and so soon will be getting hundreds( was up to 3hundred odd before i censored my wrist, my progression went something like this 40, 42, 45, 85, 90, 98, 138, 245, 300). looking forward to getting on with 7 when i'm proply juggling again, except i gave away 5 of my juggling balls. got any spare floozies? princesses don't count wink
