cool eh?

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourself, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous and talented? Who are you NOT to be?

I'm sceptical...cos ive done my famiy history and researched the crest and seen a photo of my actual family crest (as in a stone carving of it) and the one that site gave me doesn't look like it. confused

i would have changed ***** to phallus, and claire to petey Petey

Rougie: but that's what I'm doing here
Arnwyn: what letting me adjust myself in your room?..don't you dare quote that on HoP...

No to rain on anyone's parade or anything, but there is no such thing as a crest attached to your name; crests belong to specific families, and depending on the birth order, gets differentiated by the addition of certain heraldic symbols.

It's actually technically illegal to display a coat of arms that has not been granted to you by the College of Heralds. They charge a huge amount to do the differentiation and grant you arms too.

Anyone who offers to sell you "your" coat of arms is doing nothing but making a buck for themselves.

There is a slight possibility that I am not actually right all of the time.

I have a family plaque that has our family name on it and comes with a small paper that explains the meanings of everything on the crest and what the name means. It was given to my dad after he retired from the Marines.

This site's example looks a bit different, but it does have the same lion on it. I'm kind of saddened that there wasn't more of an explaination into the meaning of my last name, but I can let you know what are crest at home says about it.

I was curious about my mother's maiden name too and found this:

And while I was at it, my Dad's Mother's maiden name, just because I have yet to meet people with that same last name other than my own family.

I am bored yes wink

My sister married an Italian baron surname Reitano. The barony was granted after a member of his family lead some successful campaigns against some african tribes to capture land for Italy. Consequently, their coat of arms has a black severed head as the main device!

Sorry I don't have a picture online to show you guys... but it's not very pleasant anyhow!
