A friend of mine sent me this riddle and I am stumped:

People say you can tell nothing from my face.
I sound like I am useful in a fire.
I have connections to Royalty
People get undressed around me

If you can help me with the answer to that one, try this one:

"The beginning of eternity
The end of time and space
The beginning of every end,
And the end of every place."

It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.

What this calls for is a special mix of psychology and extreme violence...

ok ill post another one....

I'm as small as an ant, as big as a whale. I'll approach like a breeeze, but can come like a gale. By some I get hit, but all have shown fear. I'll dance to the music, though I can't hear. Of names I have many, of names I have one. I'm as slow as a snail, but from me you can't run. What am I?

biggrin It was a nusery rhyme I knew as a wee fella.

This one will probably not pose any problems but if no-one knew the cherry, maybe...

"White sheep, white sheep on a blue hill
when the wind stops you all stand still.
When the wind blows you all go away,
white sheep white sheep what do you say."

I have several large jars of the stuff. I actually like it... a little. And don't tell anyone I admitted to it.

How about this one?

There are two men...

The first says the second is lying.

The second says the first is telling the truth.

Which is telling the truth?

Oh...and btw...the riddle with the 'handless man' has no answer...

Well...it's a verse from a very old Spanish story that, if it has an answer, I've never seen it... shrug

...and actually, the previous one is unsolvable...added that one just as a kind of continuance of 'no answer' riddles...

...on the other hand...

I am emeralds and diamonds,
lost by the moon.
I am found by the sun
and picked up soon.

What am I???

Guess maybe that one was a bit much?

How about a different one and if anyone ever comes up with that answer, just feel free!!!

With no wings, I fly.
With no eyes, I see.
With no arms, I climb.
More frightening than any beast,
Stronger than any foe.
I am cunning, ruthless, and tall;
In the end, I rule all.

What am I?

your right i have no idea what the first one is... samsons riddle, dont know the answer

but the second is the imagination

try this.... more of a puzzle than a riddle but still

A horse travels the same distance every day.

Oddly, two of its legs travel 30 miles each day and the other two legs travel nearly 31 miles.

It would seem that two of the horse's legs must be one mile ahead of the other two legs, but of course this can't be true.

Since the horse is normal, how is this situation possible?

horse is moving in a circle. Now the smart ones here will probably be able to tell you the radius of the circle but I never claimed to be smart!

how about this:
four legs does it on 3 legs,
two legs does it on 2...

Oh, the one that I posted before was indeed Sampson's riddle...

The eater is the lion; the sweetness is honey that had hived in the lion's skull.

Okay...how about another...

As I was traveling to St. Ive's,

I met a man with seven wives.

The seven wives had seven sacks.

The seven sacks had seven cats.

The seven cats had seven rats.

Rats, cats, sacks, wives.

How many were going to St. Ive's?

honey lives in a lions skull????!!! eek

St Ives is an oldy - only one is going there.
(Although I always did think that "I" might have met them by catching up to them since that many travellers all together would be going pretty slowly).

Ooops...that should have been the BEES that had hived in the lion's skull...my mistake...

St Ives is, indeed and oldy...and I thought it was only fair to give one that was a bit easier after the Sampson riddle...

Okay...don't think this one has been given yet...
