Well, seeing as we are starting to take over the

"Offical HOP "I just learnt a new move" thread", I thought we should contain this bit just to jugglerisng and the throwing and dropping of balls, clubs, rings and other miscellaneous juggling props.

Today I mothered learning 441.

I had a few throws of 531 but only 1 catch. I think my 5 is too high.

Note for the mods: I DEMAND on behalf of the jugglers on this site, as has been done with the aforementioned "Poi moves thread", that this one is made a sticky thread.

Otherwise its just favouritism really....

My most recent toss move that I have gotten down is backcrosses. I can't do too many yet, and I have only worked with balls, but I can do enough that at this point it is just practice.

Backcrosses is one of those tricks that takes a lot of work smile

We managed a couple of rounds of a 4-person PassPassSelf feast last night. Theres more decent club jugglers joined the club this year and its really fun working on the more complicated passing patterns.

PPS Feast? Really? are the two passes to the same person, or do you switch people with every new pass?

Either way, sounds like fun.

If it wasn't obvious, I'm a huge fan of passing vs juggling alone, and also a huge fan of fun patterns with multiple people. I think the most interesting one I did (right before the injury) was to feed 2 people, 1 of whom was doing 3 count and 1 was doing PPS.
I also learned to feed 2 people each doing a 3-count with only my left hand.

Know whats fun for 2 folks with PPS, 1 throwing straight and 1 crossing, makes the pattern more wacky =).

I unfortunately have done nothing new in 2 weeks of juggling as I have a juggling related hand injury I'm healing from. Doc said that it could take a couple of days to a few weeks to start feeling better *sigh*.

Feel better soon! I too love passing.

But the coolest thing I have done is a 3 count typewriter feed with ultimates (I wasn't the feed though).

Yeah, I enjoy tough feeds, Gorilla feeding ftw.
The next one I really want to work on is a 10 club feed which is basically a 7 club singles feed where each feedee is only passing to one of my hands, and every throw I make is a pass to throw left hands.

Although honestly, now that I can feed two feedees a 3 count with my left hand.... maybe when my hand is better I can learn to feed 4 people all doing a 3 count with 1 hand for 2 people each.... That would be insane.

Both passes go to the same person, so it switches recipient every 3 beats. Going to try for the each pass to a different person soon though, but its going to get hard to follow. Will look real nice if you could run it!

Yay! Got access to a camera. We still doing a "spinning sucks" video?

I will easily be the worst juggler, but it sounds like fun. grin

Also it is exams, so I need reasonable excuses to procrastinate.

Been doing a lot of work on different props. I have a set of three clubs so I have been working on that ((Constant Doubles, Ever Unders, 4-1-4, tennis)) and I have my 5 ball now to the point where I can do maybe 20-30 catches as well as learning how to hand stick manipulations with the d-stick while the other hand is screw with the stick itself.

As far as a I hate spinning video I am always game.
P.S. Just getting outside elbow stalls with CJ down.

Awesome. I have got some decent editing software now, but my skills are lacking. If no one else wants to, I am happy to put it together. Will not be overly well done though.

2 minutes or so each long enough? Do not want a 30minute video if I can avoid it.

That is totally something I would do but... I have no video camera at the moment. I really need to hang around more folks and "borrow" theirs occasionally.

I just had this great idea for a juggling trick, going to try it tonight and see how/if it works out. It's a slap-back variation.

So, shall we say next week Friday (26th) is deadline? (Mostly because I need to leave good bandwidth on the 5th, so would be nice to get it done before then....)

PM for an e-mail address if you are interested in doing something for this. Around 1.5-2 minutes of anything but spinning (so juggling of some sort). smile

This week I worked a bit on:

Reverse back crosses with clubs; I can only get 1 or two catches.

Back crosses with clubs; I can usually get about 5 and then it falls apart.

That move where you throw a flat at your shoulder area then turn and catch it on the other side of your body after the club has "bounced" off your back. I don't know what it's called, but I like it.

I got about 7 catches and 8 or 9 throws with 5 clubs. The patterns looks solid and feels great, then it just dies.

Still trying to get four balls solid. Been mostly playing with three, so this has been a lowish priority until now.

I did twice flash five, horribly though.

Flashed five a few more times, and actually putting some effort into it now. Getting started with 50505, but not able to run that yet. Getting regular flashes of 55550, so going to start trying to run that as well.

Otherwise, got four ball fountain solid, and am still playing lots with three. Trying to throw a 6 out of a cascade is hard. The 6 keeps coming down at the same time as one of my 3s. frown

I only check this forum every three to six months so best count me out of the video. If you can find my e-mail address and mail me (Mynci can probably do this) then I'd be happy to help.

juggling wise. throw up two balls to the same height, same hands then throw up three balls to the same height, same hands except one ball crosses. two of these balls go to the same hand for a squeeze catch. repeat until you either mess up the throw or your head starts to hurt.

Wow, it's been ages since I've posted here. For the passers, I recently learned pass pzip self pass pass self, what a monster of a mission that was. Working on 5 clubs, 22/23 catches is where I'm at on good runs. Trying to nail 100 backcrosses with singles, getting to the 85 - 90 mark before losing my flow frown
Almost have the head balance to blind kick sorted.

In the meantime, check out this spot of me performing in Circus Aotearoa
