One I've plagerised from "The Passing Zone" as seen on "The Aristocrats".

Hold the still lit end up in front of your mouth [as one would with a microphone] blow on it a couple of times to get that lovely [sounds like blowing on a mic] noise, and ask the audience

"Is this thing on?"

Never lie down with someone who has more problems than you.

I do one of three things, depending on the situation.

A. If a wick goes out too soon I'll transfer fire from the lit side

B. If one burns out before the other at the end of the routine I'll continue to spin the lit side until it goes out.

C. If I'm feeling fatigue and one side burns out I'll just blow the other side out or put it out with a fire blanket.

I finish with a flourish usually, making a massive high-speed arc in front of me, then over my head, and then tucking it under my arm

....it's much easier demonstrated than told ubblol

i used to swing my staff real hard to make the wick go out but my staff flew apart when i was spinning at a festival and a bit of it landed in a beer tent 200 metres away frown now i just play with it till it goes out just in case

I can;t use the gold club tactic... my staff just doesn't go out when I try it.

I usually wait for one to go out and then smother the other.
But by god does my staff burn for a long time... :-\

i put both wicks out before they go out on there own. Helps keep wicking in good shape and cools it down faster

I mostly just start spinning very quickly, enough for fire to go out

I do that with a long staff. My armpit hugs roughly above the middle of the staff - clear away from burning wickness tongue

Doing it with short doubles could prove smellingly hilarious.

for it to work you have to spot your wicks, if one seems to start to gutter a bit slow down and wait for the other to catch up, if the same amount of fuel is on each wick they should last about the same time do it when the flame is weak biggrin

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.
