OK... i've done the searches and now I'm officially confused.

Is a waist wrap simply a transition from forward to reverse weave in the wall plane??

I had always thought it was that Cassandra/Dom move where you get your arms all the way behind your back and do a circle in front (on your left) with arms twisted behind the back, then behind, then infront (on your right)...

I realize that there is no such thing as fact so just chime in on what your opinion is.

NYC- alone in a city where the people don't waist wrap.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

Can someone please describe the difference between a top carry front WW and a bottom carry front WW? I've been shown by FNF, but I want to make sure I'm doing it right smile

Thanks,

Josh

if you were looking in the mirror while standing on your head, doing a front WW top carry, that would look exactly like a front WW bottom carry. (if your were wearing a strap on cardboard cut out of yourself- upside down.
I hope that helps, if not, why not ask kate  I'm sure from last summer I remember that she understands them. hug.
If not, have you got broadband, I can e-mail or msn a much better answer. but if you learnt from FNF, you almost certainly got it right

:. front ww's . :

with top carry:

anti-clockwise 2bt weave (wallplane) starting on left hand side.
left hand always leading.
2bt weave across to right hand side.
top carries lead back to starting position (going from right hand side behind, across the front to left hand side behind).

or

clockwise 2bt starting on right hand side.
right hand leading.
2bt weave across to left hand side.
top carries lead back to starting position.

the bottom carries happen if you do make the other hand lead through so they become:

anti-clockwise 2bt starting on right hand side.
right hand leading.
2bt weave across to left hand side.
bottom carries lead back to starting position.

and

clockwise 2bt starting on left hand side.
left hand leading.
2bt weave across to right hand side.
bottom carries lead back to starting position.

i think ubbangel

hug to yourself and katinca.

edit: maje sure you take up drew on that email answer too - it's really pretty and much clearer than what i just wrote.

not while doing the carry.

arms are always 'open' across the carry, whether top or bottom.

so if going right to left, left hand leads.
if going left to right, right hand lead.

sorry i didn't help frown

That was an interesting question Josh, and thanks to Coleman and Mr Glass’s explanations I now know there is a bottom carry. I was worried for a bit because when this top/bottom carry thing came up I was way of track. I was thinking top carry for normal ww, and bottom carry from the upper fountain (well u can’t have an upper waist wrap, that would be silly wink )

So how do people change from going to the right (clockwise) to going to the left (anticlockwise)? I just do a fwd to rew at the side to change direction.

to go from top carry ww to bottom carry ww you just add an extra circle.

that is, spin 3bt weave on one side rather than a 2bt.

this changes the hand that leads through the ww.

to go from the clockwise pair to the anti clockwise pair just turn 180 to face the other way smile

ps. please tell me if this is clear as mud stone - it's late and i'm slightly inebriated beerchug ubbangel

Thanks Cole, that makes sense. I do use the extra circle sometimes to change up a gear for some moves. Like Josh says, it's stinking hot today and I might need to keep hydrated beerchug

Edit. Thanks to the contributors on the bottom carry discussion, because it has opened up lots of stuff for me. Cheers.
