Medium Monkey Fist Fire Poi are also a very popular style, providing similar flame characteristics to the medium cathedral Fire Poi. With the added bonus of being a more fitting ball of fire with a meteor tail of flame. These sets also have a fuel compartment within the core for extending the burn time. Unfortunately because of the time involved in making these they do cost a bit more than Cathedral Style Fire Poi.
Larger Monkey Fists are available and are rather heavy with big flames requiring you to have big strong arms, not for the fainthearted. But wow what a show!
All Fire Poi SetsAll our Fire Poi sets have KEVLAR® wicks . If you look after the wick it can last for years.
However if you let the fire wicks smoulder by allowing all the fuel to be used up then the KEVLAR® wick will burn away slowly and fall apart. Sunlight also degrades and darkens the color of KEVLAR® wick slowly over time. So it is good to have wick covers when using Fire Props during daylight, it also stops you getting your daytime clothes dirty from the residues on the wicks. Many people wrap some tin foil over the wicks and then put some colorful socks over that. We also sell some fluffy covers which can fit over some common KEVLAR® Fire Heads.
Because of how expensive pure KEVLAR® is our wick also contains other aramid fibers and fabric grade fiberglass. (not the kind that itches or stabs you. After all at HoP we work with it all day. We sell many configurations/styles of Fire Heads.
