I walked into the hospital this morning feeling perfectly fine. I walked out today after a very unusual day. Not one, not two, but THREE babies died on our service today, by no fault of anyone's. Just bad luck. The floor had this black mood over it. We're used to losing maybe one baby or so a month, often less. Three in one day is just unheard-of.
There are days I walk out of the hospital and pat myself on the back for having had a good day. Today was just not one of them. And what really sucks is that there was no way to save them.
I've really never lost a patient before. Given, these weren't really my patients, but... I just need a hug after a day like this and I don't have anyone to give me one.

you know some people say that when a baby dies at birth its a completed spirit, if you think that sounds like nonsence focus on the good days, you do an amazing job

Ok, I helped save a baby's life yesterday and today, she's doing just great. I feel a LOT better now.
