Do you know what sort of Techno you're looking for? Errr, good techno I spose?

Depending what you're looking for you may find it here.... invisible agent and it's free....

Stay away from the Gabba unless of course it's what you're looking for

Try the forums here

https://www.blackoutaudio.co.uk/phpBB2/index.php

for techno of various kinds. Or you could go to here and download any number of mixes from here

https://schranz.basskilla.org/?page=download&action=more&categoryID=2

I'd recommend sets by Chris Liberator or Dave the Drummer for acid techno or Daniel Gloomy or Speedy J for the more hard German sound.

PM me if you want any more

shocking comment.

i would normally say something smart and then make an unarguable-against case for why gabba is great. but dom isn't here to tell me what to say...

so until he gets here i say this... BALLAX!!

Not for the faint of heart. One of my mates is mad into it (as well as speedcore) and I end up listening to it quite a bit. I don't mind it but I've never listened to a whole set of it before, only usually a couple tracks in the middle some techno.

It's well cool when it's pre-dawn at an outdoor free party in the middle of nowhere and you can't see anything and everyone's wandering round all lost....fantastically disorientating.

The faster the music the slower you dance <-- slower than that even

For pure techno - Jeff Mills & Fumiya Tanaka

Acid techno - I second Spiral X.

Nu-NRG - Yohji Biomehanika, Lab 4

Other popular artists you may want to check out include Carl Cox, Derrick May.

Also check out Ken Ishii.

Ok, so my ignorance is shown, I will admit, I do not know what all these different types are, so I will need to be enlightened.

Um, alot of these have already been mentioned, just consider these an extra vote for those ones, making them even more loved, and as has also been mentioned many are not real techno, ranging from Psy-trance, to house etc.etc
Starting alphabetically and ending haphazardly we have
Astral Projection, aphex twins, Kai tracid, Hallucinogen, Infected Mushroom, Skazi, D.A.V.E, Zero Vision? i think, shpongle,

im also sometimes a fan of the more commercial older stuf... Storm etc.etc

and Kai tracid is cool, but i reckong his best one HAS to bee too many times, not trance and acid, although i reckong that is 2nd, but too many times just speaks to me... lol

do you mean techno as in a blanket term for electronic music?
cus tech is really a sub genre of electronic music, whose funky repetitive beats are performed well by Woody McBride.
Psy definitely is my favourite sub genre of electronic music. Of that, Downtempo Psy(Shpongle) and Dark psy (Mr Peculiar) are my favourite sub-sub genres!

(Triphop (Lamb, Portishead) comes a close second!)

Hark!? Did someone mention Mr. ESP himself? I think he may be a quasi local around these parts, knew he was popular but didn't know he extended all the way to Australia.

I have a few local techno dj's I really enjoy, havn't branched much out to the bigger dj's, except Mauro Picotto.

Hey if your looking for some good techno, I'd go with maybe Tomcraft, that is some good rave stuff, if thats what your looking for. Hes a pretty good artist. And who else, there is rank1, Dj Tiesto, and a bunch of others.... Even maybe scooter. But of course this is all mainstream stuff. I personally may be producing a CD soon, Hypertrancic Melodies, and If your nice, I could always send you a copy. Its good hardcore spinning material, which is what I'm making it specifically for. Peace out dude!
