it's one of those oversized metal paddling pools, just enought to splash around in

free kids? how much?

we could start a human chain of people with buckets from glass's house, or each take it in turns to carry a bucket from there. Too bad he's out of the country.

it is true that theres the big water thing near the tube station, but i'd have thought that by now it's about 50% wee.

p.s. I see no reason for not owning a paddling pool. Where else are you going to mud wrestle??

I've actually been browsing ebay for a paddling pool this morning! With the 37degrees outside today and a hot summer on its way, I think it would be just dandy to get naked (thanks Skullduggery) and have a wade in my backyard.

I'm not sure about the water restrictions though - the state that I live in (NSW) has strict laws about water usage and I just don't know whether a wading pool is allowed. hrm.

Just in case anyone is interested in the severity of water issues here in Australia, these are the restrictions in place at the moment:

No hosing of lawns and gardens except hand-held hosing BEFORE 10.00 AM and AFTER 4.00 PM on Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays.

No filling of NEW or RENOVATED pools greater than 10,000L except with a permit from Sydney Water. i guess this means I can have a wading pool

No sprinklers or watering systems AT ANY TIME

No hosing of hard surfaces including vehicles AT ANY TIME

that's right Dentrassi. And the "no hosing of hard surfaces" means I can't hose you down, either. Damn it. I've always enjoyed water sports.

each year for the last 4 years I have held a wading pool competition where you get a small wading pool (must be a blow up pool) and you must landscape the pool area (not professionally).

Each year the winner gets a case of crownies (beer for the non aussies)

extra points for creativity
