Okay, so two of my best friends in the whole world are getting married soon and they asked me to sing something at the service...

I (and everyone else who'll be there) hate mushy love songs, so I need something a bit groovy/funky/bluesy/soft rock/ maybe something even in a tribal language...?
Help me out if you can think of something...It just has to be something I guess to do with being content and happy and stuff...
If you have any ideas PLEASE let me know.... any suggestions are welcome... I want this to be awesome....!
Cheers in advance peoples....!

I don't know anything in a tribal language, but go listen to some Mediaeval Baebes. (PM me if you can't find them.) They have beautiful songs in assorted languages, some even in middle english. When translated, their songs are often fairy tale-ish, but never mushy.

E pluribus unum, baby.

Longer Than - Dan Fogelburg?
More Than Words - Extreme
Dream Come true - Frozen Ghost
All My Life - KC + JoJo

I don't know. My brother in law is a singer and has done many weddings and said that the first few listed were really popular. It is worth checking out anyways. I am going to a wedding this weekend, so if anything else comes to mind, I will try to list it also. Good Luck.

Actually be pretty funny if you dressed up as Boy George and sang, 'Do You Really Want to Hurt Me.'

i dunno about groovey or funky, but if your a good singer (i assume you are) you could sing the white stripes, i fell in love with a girl, with no music. that could be kinda appropriate

Me train running low on soul coal
They push+pull tactics are driving me loco

What about...

Rome Wasn't built in a day. - Morcheeba -

very funky but melodic with opening line

"You and Me, were meant to be."
"Living free, in harmony."

Has some slush tho...

Or

Dream a little Dream - Various -

Something you could really make your own, either funky and powerful, or sultry and sexy, even thrash metal if that takes your fancy!

My baby just cares for me by Nina Simone

Actually anything by her rocks but the lyrics of that one are quite fitting for a wedding

some people take a walk in the rain and others just get wet

Smiling is infectious. Please pass this on.

Hmmm, lots of good syggestions here...

I know, sing the medley at the end of "Shrek," his Karaoke Dance Party is perfect. It's got a little bit of everything

Dance like it hurts; Love like you need money; Work like someone is watching.

Never criticize someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes. That way, when you DO criticize them, you are a mile away, and you have their shoes.

Hey guys!
Thanks for your suggestions so far...! Thanks for also excluding the soooper mushy ones (all except for Dentrassi's lovely version of I will always love you..!)

I've downloaded as many as I could find of the ones you suggested (that were suitable! hehe) but am still keeping my options open in case an absolute gem happens to pop up...!

If you think of any more keep 'em coming...!
Shanks so much for your help so far!

they have got to be the corniest/lovesong band around. Almost all of their songs are really nice, wedding type songs, and not so hard to sing, you may enjoy some of their songs...
ie. Now and Forever
