Yes, as you might have heard Oklahoma is very boring. Well not all the time but when I have no on to spin with it gets boring. Yes, I know all about the meet others thing but I just want to know how many of you okies are still active in here. I've talked to a few of you in Stillwater but I have yet to find anyone in the OKC area. It may be that some of you are really new, I was there once and I will be more than happy to teach for free, I just want someone to spin with. It helps me push myself to learn and get better. What I'm thinking it is, is that most of the spinners I know are druged out ravers that spin glowsticks and have fried themselfs so bad they can't use their comp anymore. J/K! I have a lot of raver friends that are really good spinners. Well if any of you are in the OKC area and aren't on the meet others list...shame on you! I'm just looking for some others to start spinning with.

Dude, OKC is like... maybe an hour away from us, tops. You know you're welcome to come spin and learn with us anytime in Stillwater

Hey, dj_retro, I am moving to OKC next weekend (August 1) and I would like someone to spin with there. I'm very much a beginner. I started to learn with Dio and everyone in Stillwater a couple semesters ago, but I had to put it on hold while I finished my degree. But now that I'm done, I really want to get back into it again. I don't do drugs, but I do like raves and glowsticks, so if you can "deal" with that we'll be alright. haha!

Forgive me if you reply and I don't get back to you soon. I'm finishing up my last two classes this week and then packing up and moving this weekend, then I'll be going home to St. Louis for a few days, so obviously I won't be on here much until the second week of August or so. I'll get back to you eventually though, so please reply.

Do you guys still meet in Stillwater? I live in the metro (OKC/Norman area) during the summer, but I go to school up in Stillwater the rest of the time. I was hoping to meet some people who spin, I'm moving back up there in August.

I tend to specialize in long shots. Actually I didn't notice the date until after I posted. It is really windy down here a lot of times but you kind of get used to it. Including the tornados. We specialize in unpredictable weather down here.

There are some places in OK where you see nothing but flat, boring fields.

Oklahoma does indeed suck, I moved far far away laugh3
There are a few people around OKC though. Look up John Rushton on Facebook. He's in the OKC area and knows a few others.

Last time I hung out with John was a festival at the big farmer's market in OKC. Had a handful of people out there with poi, hoops, staff etc.

There are poi spinners in Tulsa. It seems to be on the rise here which has its good and bad points. And when it's tied to closely into the tiny 'rave' scene in town it can be difficult to get people to see beyond the glowsticking mentality. Oddly a lot of people won't touch fire or even intend on it.

@Mr Majestik about as much as anywhere else if you go in trying to start a fight.

@ Refuge I'm fairly certain there's a law where all people must carry at least one loaded gun at all times. Something about allowing people to take the law into their own hands frees up local law enforcement to pursue more important work. Hey they're on a budget also!

I don't know how many people from Oklahoma still view this one or if there is a better place to be looking, but I just started and kinda want to see more in person or just too talk with others about it. I live in the OKC area so if anyone close wants to show a little I am not a fast learner but i am trying and thanks for the time you spend on this.

Dallas is still closer for most things Gary. But get a ticket to Campfire and you can ride with the Oklahoma crew(Brendan and I).

We could play Cowboys and Indians with the Texans, just like back in the day!
