Posted: I'm just beginning Poi. When ever I swing my poi it seems to make a "V" and swing close to my legs or feet. Any tips on how to make it swing straighter?

Posted: it's really just practice. try spinning them slower so they have just enough momentum to go round and work on positioning and where you need to add the extra push to get them straight.
It really will come just with careful practtice. Although I still avoid poi wheree possible after several incidents involving poi and my gentlemans area
A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Posted: Try to make yourself make a ^ rather than a v, then go to a v, then go to a ^, do this for each way that the poi can tilt, then try to sit in the flat area.
Try out "Saloon doors" its a tutorial online someplace, but I have to go to workies now, so I cannae find it for you.
