Tell us all about it! We love hearing about our fellow poiers/staffies/misc. toyers succeeding with new things biggrin

It's just hard to keep up with it all sometimes, so if we keep it together you'll be certain to get a little feedback.

yeah! floppy 3bt weave - classic!
nice one garthy biggrin

last night i had a juggle with jonnny which hasn't happened in a while ubbrollsmile

he showed me 66611 which i loved.

then i almost caught 66111 with clubs.
which was nice.

the 1's go in front then behind (round the body like).

then we passed clubs for a bit and did some tricks out of a 6c 4-count:

441 with 1 btb
522 and 531
shoulder throw passes
backcross passes
and we almost managed to do 531 with the 3 as the pass which is both confusing and very, very cool.

forwards and backwards 5bt split time ttn and forwards 6bt same time ttn and offset 3bt ttn on the left but not on the right for some reason, despite it being part of the 5bt. keeps going same time when i don't want it to. and a inside ttn type thing that stays inside for an extra beat before changing which hand leads where i wasn't expecting it to.
and 3ball juggling where you throw from under the other arm. (don't know why...)

and some more... 7bt weave where the poi don't touch anything and your arms don't touch each other either... iso 7bt (mostly, cant isolate properly with my arms twisted up like that and the transition goes wobbly, but all the twists on either side look good) and btb 7bt

well, i got a sorta not-proper-5-beatish-5-beat-fountain-like-thingy. and i can almost do a 6 beat weave. and i got one side of a hyperloopy airwrappy thing. not sure which. uhh, and i've tried 'dancing' a bit more with my poi. that hurts, not only when you stuff up, but the next day, too.

thank-you kindly jonnny - will have to have a handstand session next time i see ya.

although it'll be a bit like me teaching you to juggle a 5 ball cascade - i know what i have to do but i just haven't practiced enough yet.

spotting and someone to laugh at my good collapses would be great though wink

i'm also doing some spider/back bridge type thingies and stretching me legs lots at the moment in anticipation of learning walkovers smile

me girlfriend can do backwards and forwards walkovers and they really are very, very pretty ubbrollsmile

adam of the north showed me a nice headstand where your head doesn't touch the floor and you do it all on your forearms.

headstand to handstand is pretty hardcore - if you can do it back the other way i salute you twice sir smile

hehe - I cant believe you guys are talking walkovers. This and handstands have been the major things I have been working on for the last month or so. I got soo close to a back walkover the other night. I think within 2 weeks I'll have it. I can get into it smoothly, I just need the strength and flexibility to go from bridge to handstand.... its very exciting and I think there is loads of lovely non spinning staff contact in there smile

17 catches of 6 ball async fountain and more catches than i've done before of the sync fountain ( i didn't count but i reckon it was about 18 catches).
20 catches of async 4 club fountain too ubbrollsmile
messy so it was though.

learnt a new 5 ball passing thing with jonas mcdreadlikely in finchley yesterday but have no idea how to describe it.

still can't do any 5 ball tricks frown

no new poi moves to report.

Inverted butterfly airwrap, sort of. In juggling tennis, 423 and 423 with the 3 thrown underneath, whatever that is.

Cole, you coming to Spitz tomorrow? Bloody 531 is eluding me wink

Yey for Brizzol JC...now I am armed with new poi-ness with the following bullets.......

Butterfly buzzsaw and extnded into fountain. Also isolated but not in fountain. (thanks me ubblove)

One-handed butterfly hyperloops, then extended into over the head passes and UTL passes. (thanks me and rossco bossco)

Full matrix and now my tummy muscles hurt lots and lots but that won't put me off (thanks Rob)

Contact pass over the shoulder into wrist propellor (me again)

BTB throw into one handed butterfly catch. (more me)

[edited for stonerforgetfulitus] Totally forgot the pick up whip catch/toss (in one action) from the floor which works surprisingly well and is surprisingly easy, and double weave arm wraps from Gary the tea man too weavesmiley Yey for new tricks bounce

Yey me, yey Rob, yey Ross, yey for everyone at Brizzol this weekend including Gary the free tea man! There was tons of other moves I learnt but now my memory has faded somewhat but I've now learnt that learning new stuff at 6am after partying for 15 hours may be a good way to nail something but it isn't a good way to remember the tricks post waking up time 5 hours later.

Thanks to all the wonderful people at the BJC this weekend i now have -

The poi matrix - tummy muscles are very painful but worth it! Thankyou Rob! hug

A few new butterfly hyperloops - thanks to me and bug and rossco.

Flowers - they're so pretty!

Some other, more basic stuff that looks good.

And now i'm gonna learn butterfly waistwraps, mainly because of people bugging me about not being able to do them yet biggrin

well, i got some odd wristwrapping weave action happening, and the fountain like thing is a lot smoother now. and a really cool reverse parallel spin-catch-butterfly wrap/grab move, that even works with fire. trying to work on going from fwd something, but the legwrap throws the poi at too much of an angle, and they hit me in the butt.

oh, and i can sometimes get hyperloops working for more than once in a row

backwards 7 under the arm method, and finally, fountain with a 360 degree spin when the poi get behind you. and forward 7bt over the arm to ugly weave in one easy duck and swivel. and some btb butterfly weavey waistwrapy type things depending on how you look at them and whether i get them right.
And someone at a party complementing my spinning when i was dancing about not doing anything complicated and just trying not to hit people. which was best of all...
