Posted: I just received them in the mail today however they will not turn on or show any signs of life. I tried replacing the batteries, even went out and bough a different brand of batteries, and they will not turn on. Help? Anyone else ever had this problem? I was so looking forward to the huge amount of functions they had!

Posted: No. It seems really odd neither will work - did you try the batteries the other way round?

Posted: They don't have one of those plastic saftey tabs in them to prevent battery wear prior to first use do they? i.e. one of the tiny thin plastic tabs you need to pull out to allow the current to flow...although they normally come with things with batteries already in.
A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.
