I may be taking a trip in december, via air plane. I was wondering if you can check a fire staff as luggage or if I will need to mail it UPS.

You can take them as luggage but there should be as little odour as possible! Leave a long time between your last burn and your first flight and then wrap the wicks well! I put socks over the wicks and then wrap the socks in hazard tape... lots of it.

Otherwise you could strip off the wicks and take a roll of Kevlar wih you.

oh... and don't call them fire toys/props, the word fire makes them twitch, I find Circus Props works well.

Do they make a special carrying case that I can put that staff in and just zip it shut?

Poster tubes.

'We're all mad here. I'm mad, you're mad." [said the Cat.]
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.

Its mostly the odour that is the problem. I do the above and then zip them into a fishing rod bag. Poster tubes are good and PVC pipe works as well... If you seal toys up while they smell it can disolve the glue on the grip tape though.

Hope that helps.

The smell won't be an issue on the way to, I simply wont spin for a week or so before. Coming back might be an issue depending how many days I spin before I come back. Might be easier to UPS it home.
