Ugh, I never know exactly how well my dog is doing. Too old and whever she has a fun, exhausting day, she seems so run down the next day or two. Took her 2.5 hours to get out of bed yesterday after the day before going to Easter with up. Pretty fine now, but it just shows how unpredictable she is now.

The only luck is bad luck.

Shut up before I stall my poi up your ass grin

Not job hunting also sucks. I'm pretty sure my manager is a raging coke addict on the edge of a nervous breakdown. I need to figure out where else to apply.

Seaspray if you're in Canada still, you may be waiting a while for a job. The recession has hit them really hard.

SE, did you find someone to 'pray the rave away' yet?

Good luck! And remember: piercings are good, more piercings are better, but functional piercings make you a cyborg.

EDIT: Burninating tonight! Whee! Actually, I think this will be my first time in a fire environment with more than one other spinner. Stoked am I.

Note to self: maybe cut down on the white gas in the mix. First degree burns (had one of my wicks rolling around on my arm for a bit too long) + naphtha-induced dermatitis (really sensitive skin) = upset arms. Totally worth it for the spiral wraps, though. First throws with fire, too! (Soon I will also have a better set of chains for throws, which should free me up even more.)

Also I think I figured out why people say I'm fun to watch. Compared to some of the other spinners there, I A) move around a lot, and B) put a lot of effort into making my moves clean and controlled, and C) am not very afraid of fire and look even less afraid than I actually am. I'm still bad at using all of my technical range, though.

I went with a gallon of white gas and a gallon of lamp oil, and return home almost empty-handed; that's a good evening.

Good to here Sister smile

Also, is it technically unsociable to want to burn stuff after having a depressing day mitigated by 2/3 hours of accosting people eating sushi for photos in order to win a tiara?

Ok, maybe not that depressing day... but the beginning and end still sucked

@ Sister Eleven: I suspect they're not your style but Fire Mecca has kevlar sleeves to stop that sort of thing. They might be an option for practice if the dermatitis becomes troubling.

@ Seaspray: you have me wondering who was going for the Tiara - you or the peeps eating the sushi?

Either way, burning things is fine (even desirable) so long as it involves kevlar and kerosene rather than houses. wink

@ Sister Eleven: I had a very similar night last night grin I did around 10 burns and have been working on catching my fire heads, but even ulit those things are hard to catch. I got some hot metal burns, but non of them made marks or hurt afterward. And the sleeves from Fire Mecca are pretty nice. I have them, they're were definitely worth it.

The only luck is bad luck.

I have a degree now. I got hit on the head with a hat by some guy I have never seen before and then they put this odd bit of cloth over my shoulders. Whoo!
