Does anyone know of a fuel/additive that will produce a pure white (and safe) flame? I'm guessing something like magnesium in meths but if anyone has done it before and knows what they are doing would be good to know before I dive into a disaster!

Thanks!

meths by itself give a whit(ish) flame but mixing magnesium sounds like a bad idea, i think the temperatures reached would kill you wicks, aside from being downright dangerous. titanium oxide powder can give some nice effects though i've seen...

even chuck norris can't pin you down if your on fire

Yeah, Mg burns at about 2300 Celcius if I remember correctly. Not something you really want to chance hitting yourself with. I can not think of any flame tests that produce white, at least not offhand.

Think white flames would be far too hot as Aston says, above is link to HoP library re coloured flames and colours you can safely use.

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.
