London poi workshops with G Sat 21st May 2011

As hopefully most of you know, G is one of the world's top poi spinners, and will be visiting London to teach 2 workshops on Saturday May 21st.

The venue is very easy to get to from all over London and SE England - Clapham Junction is the UK's busiest rail station, with frequent direct services to Victoria, Waterloo, Watford, Milton Keynes, Brighton, Portsmouth, Reading, etc

London poi workshops with G

Each workshop will be 2 hours long and cost £25.

3pm-5pm Intermediate - Revisit, Refine, Rethink. This class will develop your comfort level with what you have already learned and see how we can take advantage of these skills as we encounter how poi has expanded from its foundations. Moves covered: 1.5 beat weaves, huggies(or crossers), stall placement, floats, horizontal spinning and body tracing.

5.30-7.30pm Advanced - Want to master the space around you? This class explores the outer reaches of what is currently possible with poi. Discover the limits to which you can challenge your mind. Moves covered: Static vs. Extension patterns, Clockwork patterns, CAPs - mixing it up, and anti-spin stalls

About G:
G has studied Poi as a movement art since 2003. He is a well respected fire spinner with a unique ability to apply his knowledge and understanding of object manipulation to a variety of arts such as staff, contact juggling, whips and an array of juggling props, some not quite intended for this purpose.

As a multi-talented artist G has performed and tutored workshops in Europe - British and European Juggling Conventions – UK, Germany & Spain. Asia - Bali Spirit Festival (Indonesia), Supperclub (Singapore) and the USA – Burning Man (Nevada), Decompression (San Francisco) and many other events globally.

G has traveled the globe since 2007 to take his knowledge to new communities and in addition learn and develop new techniques and concepts for spinning and teaching poi. His vast skill set and repitoire of mezmerizing performances have earned G his international acclaim.
