Posted: It depends on the weight of the chain and the LED module. The module should be much heavier than the line it hangs from.
That's why cord is often a better choice than chain. That's also one of the reasons that glow 'sock' poi have always been popular.
Chain is also not as flexible as cord / fabric.
TBH I'd only use chain if: - The LED module is extremely heavy. - You want your LED poi to react more like your fire poi. - You want to have interchangeable fire / LED heads on your poi.

Posted: Thanks for your help guys. I've decided to get a cord instead of a chain. I do want interchangeable fire/ LED heads on my poi but I'm not going to start spinning fire for a while. I'll just buy another poi when the times comes. Thanks again!
