Ok so I have had my Cathedral wicks for some time now, they have a lot of life left but I want some bigger fire poi. I don't want Isis because I feel like they may be a bit to much for what I am looking for. So I have decided Moonblaze may be the best option for me. They seem very sturdy and good but I not sure about the details on ordering these things. I have never used Fire Mecca before so its a lil confusing with all the custom options. I know I don't want any handles but I want some of this nice 2mm chain I hear about all the time to go with these. Also I am not sure what size I should get. A medium or a large. So anyone that has purchased from Fire Mecca or has ordered some Moonblaze themselves, I would appreciate some advice. Thanks grin

I cut it with scissors tongue2 I know when I cut them I mark the middle of them with a sharpie also I can lineup the middle of the strands with the very center of the starting weave. To prevent fraying you can just glue the ends. Either use glue to fasten them into the weave, or if you sewed it or something, you can just kinda paint some glue onto the ends to stop it from fraying.

I actually ordered Kevlar I think a few days ago now to make a pair of these heads about 5" long and I'm doing it around chain like in that blog. The same chain too I think. Someone gave me a lot of that chain a while back when it was warm so whoopie!

The only luck is bad luck.

It uses more Kevlar than I thought! If you want 4 inches use 50ft!

So technically 100' isn't enough for 2 sets of 5" heads?

Nope it's not, also the 1/2" Kevlar comes in rolls of 50 so be sure to order your custom cuts to make it so you use lengths shorter than 50!!!
I'm makin 5" heads and i used a calculator to find out that each head will use ~64ft so for each head get 2 lengths of 32ft.

That's some serious amount of kevlar per head...

Nah not really, it's less than you think with the half inch stuff. And 2 lengths because you can cut it yourself and save 50 cents per cut laugh3 Just cut each into 4 pieces.

Yeah for 5" poi it's gonna cost you about $45 in materials. I bought the wrong amount of Kevlar when I did mine so I'm just gonna try and sell my heads which would pay for those and most to all of what I just ordered.

Haha if you make sure to pull all of your ends tight on every layer it'll retain a significantly larger amount of fuel.

FREAKIN AMAZING!!! All of it is, just a lil heavier then I would like but I have adjusted. I still haven't burnt but the damn weather keeps me from that. Today might be the day though XD

I gotta say though thanks for all the help SoD, you really inspired me to build my own and now I have. Hella badass XD
