Hi all,

Good to be on here - have lurked for a while and figured I should start posting.

Have been doing staff work in martial arts for a few years and am just transferring to fire work now. Am based in the Newcastle area.

Am beginner/intermediate - have all the rotors and figure 8 stuff, having a little trouble with the fountain but sure I'll get there!

Staffs are awesome. They were always my favourite weapon in performance martial arts and it just seemed a good tranition to make to fire!

Richii: A clue may be the name of the forum. wink

Would actually be interested in seeing weaponised staffwork though. Someone was talking about it, but never followed up with videos.

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "Or you wouldn't have come here."

If I can dig out my old vids I'll put them up. It's weird using my performance staff now. Despite being 6ft, it's fibreglass and weighs almost nothing!

Obviously using as a weapon is a lot sharper, more static, and a lot closer to the body as you don't want to be disarmed. It's more different than I would have thought trying it again.

Thanks Bruno - I'm pretty good with a Bo for a tiny person but I love learning new moves. I shall peruse it tonight!
