I wouldn't go to say it is really rare. It really depends about what you have going on in your head at the time. But you, sir, are dead on to what I can explain it as. It truly is magical Especially that once you realize you're in it, it's gone. Because you thought! That is not allowed That alone makes it that much more mysterious and make you want it more, I believe.

To paraphrase what it says in the clip, once the flow state has been achieved, you can more easily gain access to this state again.

Also, you can stay in it, and realise you're in it, you can take on a strange casual observer type relationship between yourself and the poi.
