I'd be guessing it's a setting on the hyperlights themselves, which makes the light flash on and off...

Looks like it's about 25Hz from the photo. smile

It's not the strobing I find interesting. It's that hyperlights generally light up the entire sock (since as far as I understand they're kinda miniature spotlights), so I'm wondering if they have some kind of setting that turns off/covers the spotlight component, or if they've just been put in pointed the other direction, or something.

I wondered the same thing, Sister Eleven. Either put in the other way or put into something that doesn't disperse the light?

In the bottom of the socks is bit of black padding so it wouldnt shine out too great. I will try putting them into other white socks, the other way around later. I imagine the light will shine out and be wasted...we shall see

So what is going on in the pic I linked to? It's a nifty effect and very defferent from what they usually seem to do.

that's a very nice pair of hyperlights but i still can't afford it yet! it's like $450 + shipping! maybe i'll just wait until it's ready for selling to the public and tested for defects and durability! hehehe! bounce2

My guess is that he's holding them in his hands either without the socks or with then shorteneed quite a lot.

@Sister Eleven: The 'spotlight' component is all they've got - it's just the illuminated sock you see generally. So turning them around probably wouldn't work very well. Even if you took the padding out of the end of the sock. Also, removing the padding is probably not a good idea - go talk to Chutney about his eyebrow ;)).

@johndhaive: They've had 6 years of durability testing.. I wouldn't worry smile

they light up the whole freaking room! That is awesome. Unfortunately i can't really justify the $500 it's gonna cost for a pair. I'll have to find a friend with a pair and have a play, then i'll probably do anything to justify the cost!

As in full power white? Looks a bit boring

Hyperlight - what colour would full yellow/orange be?

Red + green = orangey-yellow depending on the proportions:

SETCOLOUR 250|192|009 500 / Bright Orange
SETCOLOUR 250|250|009 500 / Brightest orangey-yellow
SETCOLOUR 192|250|009 500 / Bright Yellow

We could do with a hyperlight colour mixing chart ;-)

Should be able to work out the colours though?
