which computer? charles babbage an englishman created the first computer (albeit with a crank handle) back in 1822, electronic ones were developed by the brits and germans in world war 2 famously by Konrad Zuse the German I believe A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

It's completely off but might be fun to note that Kilby (working for Texas Instruments) hailed from Missouri, whilst Noyce (co founder of Fairchild Electronics) was from Texas... I boiled down their family tree ... Pommies ... but then ... Anglo-Saxonians ... means in reality they were Germans.

What were we chatting about? Time travel? I love leaving Oklahoma one day and ending up in NZ 2 days later. But then if I left NZ for Oklahoma on Xmas I could have twice as many gifts!

Even though Oklahoma runs on Indian time, somehow they manage to get Christmas on the 25th every year. And Ardmore, OK to land of the long white thingy in the sky, is a road I have traveled many many many times.
I could always declare myself king of the township of Enville, OK and make it Xmas anytime I wished!
