I've been playing around with a few hybrid ideas and I thought about this...
one hand does does a cateye (1 unit wide, 3units tall) and the other hand follows the poi head (in same time, with the poi in antispin) thereby creating a cateye which is 1unit wide, 5units tall. you need to go pretty fast with the hand thats doing the extended cateye to hold it but it looks pretty cool if your using flowtoys with handles as you get 3circles presented if you include the central circle made by the hand of the regular cateye:)
any further ideas?

I think on techpoi.tribe they were calling this a moose-eye or something equally silly. Just to be silly.

But yeah, is pretty cool. smile

Aston, I believe a moose eye was a cateye in a snake motion.

@ drex, I meant oin the extended cateye on opposites, gives a very tall thin pattern as opposed to the wider one achieved by a same direction hybrid, have a look at my vid near the end to see what I mean, is there a name for that yet?

A snake is a limbless reptile, often poisonous.

But the movement in poi is derived from the motion of the same name from clubs.

Its essentially a movement in which the poi are isolated around ones shoulders, both in front of and behind them.

Another way to think of them would be isolated shoulder reels, I suppose.

Edit: A moose eye is then an antispun version of this in which the poi will do a 1:1 ratio antispin, resulting in a cateye... I can't do it myself, but it is indeed possible, though perhaps only after you've melted your brain trying to learn it.
