many people use the 72mm MB stage ball which are great but a bit too light for me.
I made some with 80mm MB balls and i love the extra weight.

they arn't too hard to make, but depending on where you get the stage balls and the club ends from you might not be able to make them for much less than they sell them for on here.

I will recommend coloured px3 handles as counter weights, as you can put skate bearings in them so you have swivels in the handles. (give me 2 week and I'll put up a tutorial showing how (^_^))

yep skate bearings work great!

they are just a little too big to squeeze into px3 handles but with a little heat and time in the oven (1 min 30 at 150 degrees Celsius) the bearings slip right into the px3 handles.

again video tutorial coming soon wink

any tips for what length works best? particularly to best facilitate arm rolls

I can only do very basic arm rolls, but I haven't found length matters too much. The only thing long cords seem to mean (and I tend to make mine long) is that you may not often catch them near the grip, but have to let them slide back into your hand.

id like to make myself a pair of contact poi but just for regular spinning (no contact) and been wondering if these balls would work fine: https://www.homeofpoi.com/shop/productDetails/MB-Single-100mm-Contact-Stage-Juggling-Ball

so far ive been spinning with 72 mm stage balls and they seem too light for me.
also what poi knob would work better the PX3 or the single poi knob from here?

to DaG: have ou made the knob video you mentioned above? i never heard of that possibility and wonder how it would work

...can you speak poi?

Most of the people i know who have them have 100mm stage balls. These i find to be a really nice weight.

Depending on how you make them, I am sure you could find a way of weighting them a bit more....
