Fire orbs... they're badass, for sure, but real' simple. I've been messin' around with the handles... instead of loops, juggling pin handles.

If you hold both handles in your hands, it's like one poi. If you hold one handle, and swing the other end around, it's like a 'chuck. You can also do killer tosses this way (under the leg, around the back, all that jazz. Plus, you can get real' crazy with where you catch your toss...).

Opens up a lot of ideas for the orb, those handles.

For the whole 'traditional' method, it's fun to really twist your arms up, get real' tangled in the orb, and not burn yourself. Kinda' goofy, but a lot of fun.

Anyone got any more ideas? I love the orb, but I got board real' qucik.

COL 09! That guy in there with the fire orb and the two flames coming off the back of his hands. That was sick! Whatever that's called, that's great.

That is Jon I think. He also does quite well at the Japan Fire Fest, so you might find him in the winners of that. wink

No problem. Happy to help really.

Seems that orbs are not very popular. (Do not have one myself.)

Personally, I think Orb's are more a dance prop than a "juggling" prop.

With a few excepetions, there aren' many moves/tricks with them, but they are excellent for use with dance.

You can still create various patterns with them; isolations, anti-spin, trammels etc - but most, if not all, of the people I've seen use them more for dance.

Made a couple videos. Hope is gets some interest goin' in Orbs. It's pretty much what Durbs said: iso, anti, trammels, 1.5s n' the like. The other video is basic poi ideas with an orb. After making the videos, a whole bunch of variations started coming to mind... you? wink

And the poi one:
