I can make a video later about that for you wink I figured it out how to make it look nice and elegant. Not much arm movement, I seem to be seeing that people are trying or just think that 7bt can't be elegant and I hate it and decided to make a video about it. Maybe after I get medicine for my acne and I don't look like a pizzaface on video.

I'm one of those people ^^b Something a bout looking like a spastic that doesn't please my eye. Reverse 5 beat feels the same to me too.
Eh, I'm still working on the reverse 5bt, it doesn't look spastic anymore, and that's the least I can say. And I don't trust myself with reverse 7bt yet. Just need to make my hand/arm movements smoother with reverse 5bt. I'll make a vid I guess, might replace it later when I can do it reverse, I'll post it when I get it up. Most likely tomorrow if I make it today.

EDIT: I'm sorry, I made it, but my crappy computer is way too much fail to actually upload something. If I ever, well idk what I can do at this point except get a new computer, I'll put it on fo sho. wink

I should add hosting to my goals as well. Partially because my neighbors react amusingly to fire play, and partially to... I don't know, foster community? Create more fire opportunities?

Here's my 2010 list for a guy that's been doing poi now for about 2 months....

1. Get in the routine or practicing every day
2. Improve flow on the tricks I know now.
3. Learn new tricks only after getting decent at known tricks
4. Practice getting comfortable spinning in front of onlookers
5. Get fire poi and start practicing with those
6. Buy a sports cup so I don't embarrass myself at the inevitable crotch-hit
7. Figure out ways of transitioning from various tricks into others
8. Meet other local spinners and try and make a group if possible

That's all I can think of for now....

The butterfly is a trick that men suffer for. Though I bet a solid thump to the cootch doesn't feel too good either. But still, the points at which the poi tangle will hit you in two places: your junk or your head. Ladies, it is a pain you will NEVER know, but a decent hit to the nuts, not even a full force hit, and any guy, no matter how big he is on the ground in half a second. It is a pain that resonates deep inside, like demons straight from hell that materialize right below your intestines.

That sounds far worse than the blows to the head I have received! I feel for you male poi spinners a bit for that, but head blows really do suck as well*nods*

Granted it's not an epic goal, I could go to the store tomorrow and only have seven poi goals left for the rest of the year. Tangling poi or messing up tricks is one thing, but it would suck to be remembered as the guy who almost threw up after getting smacked with flaming kevlar. Heck, isn't that the reason a lot of guys I see spinning poi wear beanies or knit caps, to shield the hair from a napalm attack? Or is that just dirty hippie fashion? tongue2 And I'm sure a lot of busty women out there would hate for those to get in the way and would probably wear sports bras or something adequate.

Yeah, that's all well and good for spinners that know what they're doing. Unfortunately I am not one of those and at this point, a lot of bodily impacts result all over. Of course the end goal is to be graceful enough to not make an issue of it at all! tongue2

I dunno that logic of "you won't hit yourself if you don't hit yourself" works too much. There's plenty of people that ride motorcycles without helmets because they're not going to crash, yet there's still a large portion who end up with their skulls ground into paste. Personally, a little bit of protection is nice for when s**t hits the fan. I do a lot of bouldering, and it's nice having that big crash pad to fall on, even though it's not 100% necessary all the time.
