Then it has to be "doom generation"

Ok, so is it "Barry Lyndon" by Kubrick? If so then please explain the first part of the clue as it makes no sense to my rather simple mind... confused

Oh, and if it is then I'll have to forfeit my go because:

a. I used Google and my rather limited knowledge of former presidents to get the answer

and

b. 'cause it's late and my brain will turn into a pumpkin if I try to make it come up with cryptic clues at the moment.

So perhaps you could attach an easier clue to another movie with your answer poje smile

Couldn't work it out until my fiancee informed me that French for "the" can be "la" rather than "le" depending on the gender of the noun. But hey, I struggle with English let alone French. smile

Let me know if it's correct (yeah, I'm stalling for time so I can come up with a cryptic clue)

Blade it was, spot on..

So is this one "Satan" (or "Sheitan" in the original, in which case your whole claim to being poor at French was just a big ol' misdirection...)... In which case, how can you go to a movie with that title and _not_ have some inkling of what you were in for?

Nope, never even heard of a movie called "Satan" or "Sheitan" for that matter.

I'm pretty sure the movie in question got mainstream release a few months after we saw it at the festival so it's nothing really obscure. A little clue - it's a comedy.

Why would you want to think of a better answer when that one's right?

i couldn't work out a clever way to get 'beuller' - so i went with a skit from 'fast forward' dodgy early 90s (?) comedy show here in oz. there was a skit with two oldies - neville & his mrs, buela (they were huge fans of that spunkbubble current affairs presenter, ray martin)! ubblol *shrug* it probably makes less sense to you now!! ubblol
