Screen printing can be affordable assuming your making more than say 20 sets.
Otherwise under 20 sets either Embroidery or inket printable iron ons may be the go.

Posted: I myself have been looking into ways of doing this, but I've been wondering how to do it on tailed pois just to say my 'name' (Tide. XS), or a longer name or a logo on a flag poi, but I've never seen either in good action but what I was looking into was a good weight distribution without the flag folding and hiding its message.
This statement is false...?
