I have a neon light in my room, i mean, like a cold light bulb...
Every night when i go to bed, i find myself stearing at the ceiling, and i've noticed every once in a while my light flashes.
I learned that gigercounters work with a noble gas, that ionizates when there is radioactivity, and lets electrical current flow...
Now i live in a city where the enviroment is really messed up, since there is an oil destillery in the city. It stinks horribly. I just moved here for studing propouses, and i think there might be more than just the smell here...
Now, i know that even if there is radioactivity in the air, there wouldnt be any current flowing, but a roomie that studies electronics told me a ionizated element produces a small current...
Am I living in a city where the goverment hides radioactive stuf?
or am i just being visited by a ghost of a person who died here before i moved?
Ah, I live in salamanca, guanajuato, México btw.

Ah, I live in salamanca, guanajuato, México btw.

before worrying about conspiracy theories, go and research what the background radiation level is for your region of the world. some places are significantly higher than others and any reading you were to get from a geiger counter would be meaningless without this knowledge. An example of this was in Canada quite a few years when a newspaper reported that a river near a nuclear power plant had radioactive material in it which was clearly the fault of the plant. of course the not so smart reporter had tested the water upstream, not downstream of the plant and radioactivity was naturally occuring background levels.

If you do find that radioactivity is higher than background in your area, check some geological maps and do some research to see if you could potentially be sitting on a uranium deposit. given the price of yellowcake, you would never need to work again if you discovered a resonably sized deposit of it and by mining it you would be getting rid of all the radiation! And for a small percentage of future profits I'd be more than happy to manage your exploration program wink

Can I help? I am looking for some experience regarding that sort of thing....

You sure can! Tho my plan would be to do just enough work to prove there is a significant resource and then sell 80-90% of it to the highest bidder and then the people who discovered it divide the rest up. Kinda like what the guys who discovered the Ekati diamond mine in Canada did.
Of course, this is all assuming that Xiuhtecuhtli is sitting on a uranium resource and not just background radiation.
