Well, seeing as we are starting to take over the

"Offical HOP "I just learnt a new move" thread", I thought we should contain this bit just to jugglerisng and the throwing and dropping of balls, clubs, rings and other miscellaneous juggling props.

Today I mothered learning 441.

I had a few throws of 531 but only 1 catch. I think my 5 is too high.

Note for the mods: I DEMAND on behalf of the jugglers on this site, as has been done with the aforementioned "Poi moves thread", that this one is made a sticky thread.

Otherwise its just favouritism really....

wicked spitz last night smile

had a good juggle with lovely mr will and learnt new things too:

423 with 3 behind the head works now and after what seems like forever practicing them, two rounds of 645 and 744 are actually approaching solid now bounce

started working on a great trick too - 531 to 531 above the head via a 75300 flash.

magic.

and with clubs:

423 with the 4 as a double and the two as a single.

alternate frontcross backcross (but only with my right hand for now).

edit: i forgot that i got my club balance (chin) up to about 20 seconds now biggrin

if i put a ball on top of the club it gets really solid and i found that in general, fat clubs are considerably easier to balance than thin clubs.

cheers tim hug

crap news about your wrist still not being better frown
have you been working on one handed juggling with your good wrist at all?

if i hurt my wrist again (fingers crossed that that doesn't happen), i'd work on:

foot/kickup stuff with balls and clubs (check out gatto's video page for some unbelieveable club kickup tricks)
club balances
ball stalls/balances and headrolls (headrolls are sooooo hard dammit!)
one ball/club body throws
pirouettes (its all about the fast spinning)

get well soon and all that bolox wink

Right jugglers, i need your expertise for a few moments.

My lovely mum has offered to buy me a set of spangly new clubs for christmas. My clubs at the mo are not very nice to juggle. I learnt with radical fish and like that style.

So the big question, what are the best kind of clubs to buy when money isnt really an object? i dont want performance clubs just normal ones. I'm thinking yin yangs but any other suggestions please, i cant make up my mind.

ta muchly,
Beth xxx

Hi Beth, i think your about to spark a pirouette vs albatross debate, in my personal opinion i prefer the pirouettes, but you should have a play with both and see which you prefer. As you mentioned radical fish are a reasonalble alternative although i find them more suited to swinging and Lego stuff, not so great to juggle. Oh well that probably didn't help much but anyhoo see ya about.

Ads xx

I have recentley learnt absolutly nothing and it feels great i'm perfecting all my stuff ready for the next wave of new tricks to hit me. Its wierd how when your learning stuff it all comes in waves of progression like one day you feel really stuck and unchallenged then you learn one thing and it all explodes on you and theres so much to learn at once and you feel really good and then ... nothing your stuck again. But this time i'm enjoying the stuck part trying to get everything completley dialled in time for the next wave.
Wow what a load of crap i have just managed to brain vomit onto the screen. Have alovely day

Does this site actually exist? Or am i talking to all my other personalities?

I'm averaging 5 catches of 3 in one hand, what can I do to improve this except practice? are there any tricks or tips anyone can give?

A lotta scoop, huge circular arch with the balls.

I have managed a run of 645645645, and I can do (6,4)(2,4)(4,6)(4,2) solidly. It feels lovely to do.

I've also been practicing 5 rings, it's hard to get started...

Try throwing them higher. Also i find with three in one it really helps if you move your hand horizontally inwards between catching and throwing.

do you mean (6, 4x) (2x, 4) (4x, 6) (4, 2x)

On wednesday night, i managed to get a few throws of 5 ball half shower, but instead of the 6x's thrown over the top, the 4x's are thrown over the top. So a full half shower...
