I know which wines I like with fish, chicken, etc. But what wine goes with Poi??? (Fire poi, not the hawaiian dish)
I have been sampling a nice Chilean Camanere with my practice 65mm monkeyfist chain poi.
What have you????

hmmm, I reckon a nice south australian shiraz or cab sav would go best with fire poi. but a NZ sav blanc would probably be better with cone/sock poi

What a wonderful topic smile

I have to admit, I don't often drink wine with my poi. Perhaps its due to location. I mostly spin in the park so I tend to acompany it with a fine budget lager. This is, I accept, unacceptable. I will be watching this thread eagerly and trying out your suggestions.

I like a bit of port, it sits nicely in the tum tum when you want to move about, tastes sweet.

It does have a reasonably high % though, so watch out for that one, moderation is best. Higher % does have the benefit that you don't need to drink very much and having an emptier belly(not empty of bacon or other foods of course!) is good for getting mobile.

Port from a box is only a tad more expensive, can still be bought in a box and tastes nicer. tongue2

Ahh.. I miss the goon.. ubblove

I'm afraid I'm more likely to have cider with poi, in the absence of some quality goon.

Hmmmm... it's gotta be a fruit wine of some sort! I've only recently discovered it's magic!! It's great to have a sipple on!! (^_^)
So I think if I had to choose a particular fruit wine to do Poi with... it'd have to be either Gooseberry or Cherry (^_^)

Hooch and fire poi?

Questionable jugement, methinks.

The existance of flamethrowers says that someone, somewhere, at sometime said "I need to set that thing on fire, but it's too far away."

Oh! Hey. I didnt even realise it was about fire, I was talking about socks.

I wouldnt spin after more than one and even then I set up my poi, put away all the fire gear except for the poi sitting in the empty spin off can before having the drink and then doing the poi.
