this is where the old heads come to laugh about the move/moves they had trouble with as a newbie. just thought the subject was perfect remember the FIRE VS glowsticks threads. LMAO... anyway, I remember bashing the shyt out of my shins and my head with a BTB weave. I remember only being able to do the butterfly for a few beats, I remember thinking WHAT DO YOU MEAN IM ONLY DOING A 4 BEAT WINDMILL, WHY IS IT ONLY 4 BEATS WHEN IM DOING THE EXSACT SAME THING I DO WHEN I DO A 5 BEAT WEAVE. lol ahhh the memories. Im constantly refering people to this site, perfect for poi. well anyway its been nice remembering the past...anyone else got anyhting to add?

-Myst

All you new heads got it easy, i remember when a BTB 5 beat was unheard of, now that most of us can do it, all the old heads learn it alot quicker without the mind barrior.

now advice for a newbie section:

dont try to learn all the technical moves before you learn the basics, cause lets face it, you aint getting any respect if all you can do is a 5 beat weave and you cant even imagine doing a simple butterfly. thats all i gotta say

Its about talent, not make up or costumes.

changing the thread name in my eyes wouldnt feel right, considering i was quite the trouble maker back in the day. it wouldnt be a MYST thread otherwise. but its only the threads name, im not bagging on the newbies, nor are any of the old school heads on the board. Much love to ALL the twirlers on the site, NOW DONT MAKE ME SAY THAT AGAIN! >=) DAMN its good to be home! so lets get back to it, any other memories kids? I deffinatly remember hitting on almost everygirl on the board, ESPECIALLY FLASH FIRE...MMmMmmmmm I still got a little flame for her. Cassandra, ohhh baby!!! with my little blue glowstick who aint so little anymore. Pele, hahahahaha, be careful of her, she bites. =X damn those are the great memories I have of the past, lets hear all yours. Muahz

stupid poi
I can do the weave, and some stupid dancing half beat things where i look like im going to start flying and then i hit myself in the nads.

Staff is much better.

As for really hard stuff that everyone new picks up quickly, double staffs took me flippin' AGES to learn...

And according to Myst I bite. But Myst baby, you have to admit, at least when I bite it feels good!

Now who said that the oldies are awesome spinners just cause we been around awhile? Ummm...not so here. Ever see movies of people dance when they are young and then when they are old? That is the theory with me...all geriatrically slow and stuff! lol

How's this for memory...when DJ Dantana used to be Santanatwo??
And who can forget the lovely and ever instigating itsgottabe???? Where'd he get to?

And Nomad (I still owe you an email, I know..I suck! ) No, you can't!

Much love to all!

whats with the "damn" bit? `

and, if you want to see if you own someone, check the Female HoP Auction. That would of course mean that you'd have had to have bid on someone whilst it was operating.....

ooerrr nice pics btw...

Fluffy Napalm Fairy - He did say "stoopid" but i was waiting for him to pick up on that.

I like to take note of spelling mistakes on posts and see how long it takes C@ntus to point them out.

sometimes, I even put them in myself on purpose...so I'm pretty impressed that his fairy managed to get in before him...

ORRRR.... is that you C@ntus, using FNF login??

huh? hey?? huh??

it sure has been awhile since i have been here, it just seems a bit overwhelming at times with so many people it is hard to keep track of who you are talking to. it was fun back then, and it is fun now. i just wish i still sorked at night time with nothing to do but sit on the HOP and chat with my friends...

I totally hear ya Poz... although I don't think I ever sorked at night time, I do wish I had a puter all of my own.... I miss the community feeling I used to revel in.... I regret not being around much lately. Makes me sad and my motivation for twirling has dimished dramatically.

ach well, tis winter here anyway.... time for bears to hibernate.

so whats the deal with the 20 posts in order to upload pics, people would just post meaning less things in the wrong sections to reach the requirement right..... not that im doing that now.... um yeah so i think im in the 400 range what does that make me, i think older members should have higher picture posting clearance, also we should only be allowed one pic that doesn't include poi, right?

The HOP Mug Shot Gallery I used to run, has moved on as it took far too much effort to keep it up to date with everyone coming and going... (It moved to the Poi, Staff and All Things Firey MSN Group - it's in the MSG thread)

D'ya know - I never realised SantanaTwo was DJ Dantana...

Oh, and who was the guy who turned up on the boards said we were all crap and then left?
