Yep, We're planning on Red Nose. Was having a squizz at other camps and OMCC (Object Manipulation Concentration Camp) looks pretty interesting too! That's where Meg played when she went. As did Burning Dan's that I cant remember the name of right now... so many!

Gilim (Sam's) thinking of coming along too...

Have fun guys! Would love to make it, especially with all the lovely HoPpers there, but 09 isn't the year for me.

Unless of course Gabe can sneak me in her luggage, I promise I won't complain if I have to come through Bali as well laugh3

Prometheatrics camp.. I think it's usually sited pretty near Red Nose, central somewhere.... look it up in theme camps...
And I'm just now at Spun Out in WA, there's a whole lot of them from here who went last year... been getting lessons on foot vaselining... and saw a program... woohoo!

Renting from Lost Campers in San Fransisco. They have a few left for that time of year and they don[t mind them being taken to BM, though they do charge a premium for that time of year....

ohhh wow! so many lovelies going this year! I had vague plans to go *next* year... but now hearing how many lovelies will be heading over *this* year i'm a bit wonder

don't think i can afford it this year though *pout*

also... i must say... the campervan is a GREAT plan... the tent i was in the time i went a few years ago was incredibly hot and the whole place is dust... so to have a little haven out of the dust is a good plan  that's how i'd wanna do it next time i go smile ...but i like my luxuries wink ...also make sure you all take a sh!t tone of water!! more than you think you'll need... and as much *fresh* light summery food that you can ... i got SO sick of cereal and dry biscuits ...blehhh

also! BIKES are a MUST ...the place is HUGE and if you want to get around to see any of the *amazing* artworks (or even just the trek to and from centre camp/other camps) and things it takes a lot of foot power to get around .... i missed SO much because i didn't have a bike...

blush hot tips from pixie wink

awwwww i wanna go now! *pout*

*:...one day all the fairy fridges will be aligned and my pixie world will be complete...:*

greetings...

so it looks like im 95% definately there, im driving down from canada so if anyone else is coming from this way could be a convoy in the making, i think we have a few from seattle joining and Rob is going to meet me in Vancouver...

Bikes are a good idea but last year was so dusty that even cycling was difficult, you can always hitch rides on art cars..
looking forward to seeing you all there.... (^-^) ...

IDAM!!! WOuld be great to see you!
And thanks heaps Noelski for the invite to conclave! WIll be in touch.
Thanks for the tips Pixie. I think that Red Nose Camp we are going with looks after us well for water and food.. but that is another great reason for taking a camper... just those few little extras... and ya, we are planning on scoring some bikes....

I;m in Bali now so its a bit hard to imagine being on the Playa... could hardly be more different here!

right ho!

Ill arrive in SF a week before BM, then afterward probably head to las vegas to catch a couple of cirque shows - the good ones rather than over-artistic cirque ponce. then head back to SF probably ~15th and fly back to ozland. Gabe seems to be doing something roughly similar.

anyone want to, or know anyone interested in splitting use of a campervan? seems like theres a few of us with similar agendas - so could consolidate vans/transport etc. campervans at lostcampers are going for ~USD90/day over BM (typical peak season prices...), and ~USD60/day after BM. adds up to~US1200 for hire from 30th aug to 15th Sep.

Ive checked around, and the prices are pretty similar to most other rental place - but have the added bonus they come with the extra linen & camping stuff.

Hey James,
I spoke to the Lost Campers people (where I am getting mine) a few weeks ago and they were getting close to booked out then.. so book quick if you want to get one. If you can't get one, the one I've booked seats 4- but I think Sam and Rosie are already coming with us. If they aren't p'raps you can share with us? I'll poke Sam and see what he's decided.

So I`m thinking about buying a van when I get into the states... First stop Orlando, Florida... Then driving to New york and hanging out till the end of the month the driving in the beginning of July across state to San Fran and into the grand playa for burningman...
So my question is does anyone have any tips or recommendations on doing such a task and does anyone know anyone selling a van cheap for around $5000US? Honestly i`m a bit lost on where/how to start this manifestation...
Also if anyone would like to join me on a roadtrip across state... I more than welcome a loco or two...

Also I found a pair of rollerskates in Bogota today really really cheap... I want to rollerskate at burningman! Is it possible? I`m sure I`ve seen photos of people rollerskating?
