Ok, I am asking for opinions.

Who do you think is the worlds best poi spinner?
Why, is it their show, skill level, personality? What makes them the best?

Please if you disagree with someone else's opinion show that opinion the respect you would ask us to show yours.

Your question is rather odd, much like my mother and a kin to a wellington boot in a bucket of custard. Neither of them make much sence.

There is no one best poi spinner. Different people do different things differently. Some people excel in certain areas, and others in others. Amongst those people there are some that are better than the others.

However, Glass is generally considered the worlds best poi spinner. He did all moves possible (and fifteeen impossible moves), twice, then stopped spinning when he was distracted by a bee and has not been seen since.

Best? Me, and the other god-alone-knows-how-many-people spin. Its fun! Besides, girls are nicer to look at.

As for the bee, it started up a neo-marxist anarcho-capitalist commune and started trading honey for cars. It's now a multi-billion dollar enterprise that gives all its money to a women's literacy programme in Eritrea. It has a whole horde of super-robots that do it's bidding, mostly digging trenches for the tea mines in Scunthorpe.

Glass, however, is still unaccounted for.

Last I heard, Glass went to the Mariana Trench for a holiday with a rabbit and a badger, and although the badger returned no-one's been able to get a word out of her besides "Fishies!"

What is the point of poi? Is it to be the best or is it to have a good time?

By my own criteria I am the worlds best poi spinner... I aim to enjoy it and learn new things.

If I were to classify anyone as better than I it would mean I get more glee from watching them than doing it myself and that just isnt going to happen!

The concept of the "Worlds best" has been covered in another thread somewhere and the only thing anyone agreed on was that it was silly to try to pin down the "worlds best"

But on a more serious note I found that rabbit... lying facedown in a pond of custard. In the back pocket of the rabbits levis, still untouched by custard I found a note... the note read "Gone to Venezuela... xox Glass"

Now... this would seem a very positive piece of evidence were we actually to want to hunt down Glass to find him... except for this highly disturbing information...

On a corner of the letter I found pollen.

I suppose the fact that the letter was written with the bees letterhead on the top might also have been a tipoff, but hey, I'm no Sherlock Holmes, right?

But it could be that he is trying to throw people off the scent with a cunning double-bluff....

davidravensdad: There are people I very much admire as spinners, like Yuta, Ronan, AlienJon, meenik, Maelle and more. Which of them is the best I can not say, simply because they are usually quite different.

This is before I look at local spinners, who might not be as technically good as me, but they can move one hell of a lot better....

Hi Davidravensdad.
Don't mind them. they're just being silly. *Fishies* lol

But you've probably gathered this question has been discussed before on this forum and is not generally regarded as fruitful.
Don't take it personal.

PS Nick Woolsey reckons AlienJon is pretty good so he's probably not tooo shabby as it were.

Gabe - Nick Woolleymammothoolsey might think that, but he also plays the game with the spinning round a broomstick, then running to the other end of the garden and back again without falling in the pond. Im not sure how reliable his state of mind is.

That game's GREAT fun! although i have fallen in the pond many times, and prefer to use a space hopper rather than a broomstick. makes a bigger splash, and i think the fishies like the ripples as long as i dont squish them.. duck ubbrollsmile

The most effective method of catching the bus is waiting in ambush. Unfortunately, plenty of buses have beaten me to the site, and I wasn't able to catch it.

i see where you went wrong....

first you lure it over with a friendly wave, they're often cautious at this point as although you are being friendly, they're not quite sure if they know you. then when they're close enough you speedily mount them and from there its just like a horse, you gotta break it in before it can be ridden away. smile

Interesting that. The folks that I rate tend to spend a lot of time in there grin
