So was sitting at my desk when everything started to shake. Windows rattled a bit. Nothing violent, just a little gentle shaking. Lasted maybe 10-15 seconds tops and then stopped.

USGS is reporting a 4.3 magnitude quake around San Jose. Not hearing about any damage.

I was at work when that one hit - the only staff member who noticed that we were having an earthquake was serving customers out on the balcony at the time. We all thought she was crazy tongue2

No, this is the great southern dropbear, they have darker fur and are carnivorous rather than omnivorous.

Pete, if you felt the melbourne earthquake did you fill in a felt report? if not go to https://www.ga.gov.au/hazards/earthquake/feltreport.jsp
and fill one in. they're useful for understanding the geology of the area especially since we don't get many quakes in oz smile

And Doc, you should go to https://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/dyfi/
and fill in a felt report too if you haven't already smile

Hopefully no damage from this one..I was in SF this past september and no earthquakes then. Good thing, because I spent a lot of time on the Golden Gate Bridge- I know the bridge is tough enough to take it, but I imagine being tossed around on a bridge in an earthquake would be a pretty rough ride.
