i'm makin tater salad soon and i always get an extra rasher that never makes it to the salad
i prefer a mixture of reasonable crispy and lightly browned

update. taters are now cooling.
unfortunately it being christmas mum couldnt get bacon rashers and i had to settle for prediced bacon
smells like cabana. also there were now chives so a few green peas had to make do.ingredients for pro tater salad:
taters
bacon
peas
chives
capsicum
two whole boiled eggs
whole egg mayo
=
lushhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

thats a fair point Mr Majestic - but travelling to oz to eat it would make it much more of an adventure!
Melborne is actually my first port of call when i get to OZ, so i will be looking to meet fellow spinny people when there - fellow spinny people with potatoe salad would be a total bonus!

If you wanna add bacon, it sounds like it'd be yummy...but I'd never heard of putting bacon in potato salad before...

I used to make a warm potato salad that I always put bacon in...
* taters
* spring onions
* cream cheese spread
* sour cream
* bacon
* salt/pepper to taste
bit of garlic is nice, too.

Doc? Chicken fried bacon??? My arteries are closing up just thinking about it!!! And I thought we were bad for frying anything and everything in the south!!!

A Burning Man friend of me introduced me to it. He used a sourdough breadcrumb mixture made with eggs and spices and then fried the bacon in oil.
You could handle one, maybe two pieces.

pogo, bacon and lamb are exactly the two reasons i could never be a veggie.. nom nom nom.. I had bacon rolls for dinner with garlic cheese and chilli mayo and lettuce and it was amaaazing!
I dreamt of bacon with waffles and maple syrup a wee while ago, took me two days before I got to eat it in real life, but it was damn tasty! Im glad I had bacon for dinner, cos I'm full but still thinking about bacon. I just need to burp and I can taste it allll over again!
