It is different between countrys and you will probably find that it is also different depending on what items you order.

The home of poi guys probably won't know what kind of taxes your country will apply when the package goes through customs beacuse there are so many diferent systems around the world.

But there should be somewhere that you can find out those details in turkey. Maybe a post office or a government website with information about imports

Even the official rules don't always help - i've ordered stuff from HoP on several occasions, and only once have had to pay tax (on some flags, luckliy not on the expensive fire or glow props grin )

Same here, I got taxed once on goods from HoP, all the other times its just came through, pretty sure its because every package that comes through customs and excise doesnt get checked. Luck of the draw whether you get taxed or not really. What I found particularly galling though was that the post office admin charge was just as much as the tax itself, and they never even delivered it, i had to go pick it up from the post office! Bah!
