omg currently two of them are me!
And I'm not sure as to which I prefer as I can see positives for all options.

I've gone for "Latest images" - as you never get truly random selections and it often ends up being the same pics over and over at the top.
Unless you could do "Random with no repeats" of course

I personally would like to see random with no repeats for TWO slots and one slot reserved for <100 views or so, just to pull out some of the galleries that people DON'T look at.

Hmm so many choices.
It is kinda complicated but i reken it would be cool to show some of the highly rated ones from say the last 50 new ones.
That way they would be the good pictures the people like looking at but they would always be fresh.

I think it depends on what you want out of the photos.
Do you want them as marketing or as a community solidarity thing?
If you want it for marketing, then you're going to want to better photos which would be implied by the top viewed. However if it's for community reasons then I don't think that's so important.

Hmm would there be some way to change it depending on the part of the site the user is viewing (eg. if it's the shop, show the best photos).

I see no problem
I'm sure there are lots of hot pictures, girls, boys, attractive camels with eyeshadow...
or even split it 3 ways, 1 new, one low view and 1 random. then you get the best of 3 worlds although could that end up with the same picture 3 times? i.e - a random, new picture that hasn't been viewed....

not sure if you have changed the way the images are displayed yet, but i have seen the same 6/7 images everytime ive been on in the last few days.

I'd just like to seea variety of images. I like the idea of random with no repeats or low view count.
Anything count based gets awkward because its feature on the top obviously gets it more views, so if it was MOST then it'd just be useless, it'd be 3 pictures forever.
Okay it wouldn't be that bad but I hope my point is made. I wanna see the best variety of images.
