I love my hoops as much as I love poi and staff and I noticed there was a few other hooping hoppers out there. So I thought HOP needed a hooping thread for us to chat about tricks and share our love for hoops. ubblove
I have been hooping for quite awhile now and have mastered quite a few tricks but I still havn't figured how to flick it up off the ground and move it up my legs. I can get it from my knees up but I saw this chic at the a circus and she had the hoops all on the ground and was bringing them up her legs one by one. It looked awesome.
I've got an idea of what I gotta do but havn't quite got it. I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on this?
Thanks
ubblovemajik

Just got my pair of 20" psihoops!! They are so pretty; weaves & windmills look so good! A bit heavier than I expected -- it's difficult doing my favorite hand-hooping trick (two hoops on one hand spinning in split-time) but I think it's just a matter of building up strength. And getting better at the trick. wink

Also I got the hooping on the shoulders thing last night! Been struggling with that one for a while so I'm stoked.

I think you'd have to go with a thinner tube if you wanted to get them that small.

At least if I was making them I would.

You're in good hands with Skully though. hug

although, regarding hooping in both directions, it is important to learn so you don't cause asymmetrical muscle growth causing future back promblems.

I'm stoked -- just worked out a bunch of flower variations with my double hoops. (I think that's how poi-style hoop should be referred to. Analagous to staff vs. double staff.) Anyway I did forwards & reverse, butterfly & goofy flowers in both same time and split. Will post some vid soon.

If you're already doing flowers with poi, it's not that hard. Getting used to the hoop spinning longarm behind you & getting a clean plane back there is the hardest part (as it was with poi, for me).

I can't wait till I get to the UK and can have one. Do you post them in the UK or is it ridiculously expensive? And how long of a period of time do you want to have to work on them? (Like when should I have decided what I want!)

Got right into hooping after I bought one of skullys hoops at PLAY ubblove

I was fine for first 10 seconds or so and then hoop would fall down....

Was hooping in my jammies yesterday morning and it was so hot I took my top off. And then wow! I can hoop forever.

I think love handles being exposed makes a great shelf for them to sit on biggrin
Also having sticky skin for the hoop to grip too.
Also when I'm moving it up my body it makes a great *click clack* sound as it rolls over my nipple piercings ubblol
