ok yeah I get what you mean. I am thinking of working on those too, although I think I'll start with the extension/antispin version rather than the inspin/antispin version. either way I just finished learning antispin/antispin (same direction split time wall plane flowers) in both directions so I am ready to move on!

...although really I should work on my outside stalls first, they're so bad >_>

So actually the correct answer is:

-hands buttefly, Poi alternate, one hand long arm, one hand anti-spin

yay !

Correct me if im wrong.... im new on this, but one hand long arm, one hand antispin in butterfly sounds like a triquetra..... what's the difference?

What, me worry?

Triquetra is only talking about 3 anti-spun petals. You can do any number though, which is why I tend not to use the term myself. smile

Actually the difference is that hands move in buttefly instead
of parallel motion like in triquetra(longarm + antispin pattern)
so there are two different simultanous timings:

The timing of Poi and the timing of hands.

You got it ?

I recently figured out wha I guessyou could call lockout wallplane flowers. Basically like same direction wallplane flowers but instead of merely doing the flower, you do a lockout between each position. Is fun to screw around with XD

What, me worry?

I'm finally getting, in one direction, the contact thingy where you start it spinning, head in hand, with your arm out, and roll it so that you fold your arm over about half way through and catch it in a cradle in front of you. (I really need to find a name for this.) The reverse direction, however, is being problematic.

Toss over the elbow into a back of the hand cradle, stall the cord, forearm roll. (Man, these forums are dead. I take up way too much of this thread lately.)

What is your contact poi set-up?

I am thinking I need to get a new set and start working on this stuff.

I use 100mm balls, 1/4" rope, and HoP silicone knobs. I recommend something like the Play 260g stage balls since they reduce wobble from the handle during rolls. (right now I'm using Dube's contact stage balls, but I have doubts about their long term durability.)

I have risen from my net grave to declare I've recent picked up btb butterfly crossers after finally being able to do btb crossers in both directions. Huzzah!

Need a bit of help, so I hope it is ok to post here.
In this this video Nick is doing wall plane flowers and saying, that each spin I should alternate poi, which is inside, and outside. Does that mean that every quarter spin of my hands, where my poi meet in front of me I should swap them? Can anyone do them this way, are flowers easier if I learn this?

...can you speak poi?

Well, when Nick says to keep swapping them, he's talking about during the plane control and space exploration exercises, not so much the flowers themselves. The point is you should be comfortable having, and have enough control to put, either poi in front whenever you need to make them duck past each other. You could probably constantly back-and-forth your planes during the flower, but there's no reason to.

I'm like you Mother_Natures_Son but I'm wondering what the hell is ....... for everything!! Until I see a video and then its ohhhh thats what its called.
The "windmill" is kinda what we call a purere, other movement names wairere(waterfall), ua(rain) whati(waves). So my brain is making new connections thanks to the videos.

... Now I feel like I'm missing something really beautiful by not knowing all the Maori names for poi! I'd well rather be doing the waterfall, the waves and the rain while standing by the waves in the rain!
