So I would like to give a mega- hug to Doro (Goldorox), who managed to organize some 113(+) firespinners, made them practice for 3 consecutive days(!) and got this act together.

Not sure at this point whether this is an official World Record (to be registered with Guinness) and whether the number is sufficient.

Play 2006 claims about 200 spinners - yet I can't really notice a choreography in their approach wink

I'd like to call out to all who got more footage of the event to post it...

bounce Enjoy...

At Play we had 201 spinners. It was choreographed - we did not spend three days practicing since we wanted as many people as possible involved, hence issues with timing communication which meant the actual choreography was difficult to decipher... however a lot of hard work went into it and it was still an incredible experience!

The previous, official record was 174.

There's a lot of hard work that goes into making a record official - for more info on the 2006 Play record go here [Old link]

That looks bloody incredible though - wish I'd been there! Next year I will be... smile

Ya PLAY was choreo'd -ish- it was something like a lovely big spiral as I recall. I wasn't in it, I watched it... it was a an achievement just getting everyone dipped!

it's a bit hard to tell PLAY was choreographed in the footage as a lot of it is filmed pretty close to and not far enough above, considering how many people there were: I think it would've been easier to get the impression of what was going on with a better angle

FireNix - see the link above.

I don't think there's any place for bitterness either way smile

Yeah I def agree about the angles LazyAngel, we needed a helicopter really... it's funny how everyone is so focussed on the footage afterwards (understandably if you weren't there), people forget that it's not about how it looks from your handycam!

Zazie - falling for my teaser? wink No way I want to play down the... errm... PLAY effort...

So the 'official' record is 201? Good number to beat and jupp - I also would have thought that there would have been LOADS more people, if there would NOT have been rehearsals shrug firespinners dominion rolleyes

And let me tell you: the footage is what counts afterwards, as there are 100 fold more people looking at it than were present.
