Halloumi deserves credit simply for squeaking when you eat it ubblol

I agree, it's fab- especially marinated in olive oil with garlic, thyme and mint and added to veggie kebabs MMMmmmmmmmm....

My personal fave will always be Shropshire Blue, but when I'm feeling a little richer I do like a bit of Roquefort smile

Roquefort is probably my favourite, closely followed by west county farmhouse cheddar...

and to end with a quote from the late Mitch Hedberg....

Personally I'm really partial to stilton, just as it starts to go a bit blue, wonderful stuff!

ooh hard one!

possibly camembert. The kind that's too expensive for me to buy cos I'm poor. the really creamy kind that's got lots of flavour.

When my family were in France the people at the cheese shop made the mistake of patronising us and saying cos we weren't French we wouldn't be able to handle the strong cheeses...not impressed.

i would have changed ***** to phallus, and claire to petey Petey

my favourite cheese?
although i'm morally opposed to the idea in general, i must say i am partial to a bit of light blue cheese. as long as i don't think about it too much...

All of them!

But if forced to chose I would have to side with the Haloumi fans as I grew up with a lot of turkish quisine.

A vintage Chedar thats falling apart comes a close second.

And Feta comes in third.

I'm also a big fan of Jarlsberg. We used to eat it as part of breakfast when I was living in Norway. A great cheese for breakfast? I was in heaven!

But I think my favourite cheese of all time (probably even more so because I can't find it over here) is beaufort cheese. It comes from the tiny town of Beaufort, high in the french alps.
Fresh from the cheese factory, eaten on fresh french bread as part of a picnic high up in the alps... ubblove

I like Philadelphia Cream cheese with sweet chilli sauce.

Also camembert. And lots of goat cheese. Do not really know names, just that of the few types (5 or six) I have tried, I liked them all.

yummer!

Also, Indian type soft cheese = paneer. Either in a curry or in rose water syrup, somewhat after the manner of gulab jamun.
