Yes it's delicious, yes it's great on a pancake or on toast but deforestation leaves a bad taste in my mouth

Ah screw it, I bet marmite aren't that evil!

Honestly,

As soon as I see it from a source other than Greenpeace (the most ill-informed well-intentioned group I've ever met), I'll throw down my scepter.

I wonder how many products we all have in our possession right now that come from companies that make Unilever look like Ben & Jerry's pre-sell-out.

Seriously, I defy you to find one single large corporation that does not have some watchdog group yapping at its heels about this, that, or the other thing. There are very few completely "green" companies, and even those companies have to make use of some non-green companies.

It's good to raise awareness, but to boycott every single thing that some group raises a flag about is not going to bring about a change. There are too many things to boycott and not enough people to do the boycotting.

I may switch to a local brand of hazelnut spread (they exist here), but...

YOU WILL STILL ALL BOW BEFORE YOUR LORD NUTELLA!

Doc, I agree with you, but I'd rather find more ethical alternatives smile

'We're all mad here. I'm mad, you're mad." [said the Cat.]
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.

This is me not bowing to any kind of spread or condiment. If anything, they should bow to me, because I have the power to make their deaths last months, slowly transporting them bit by bit on the toast-vessel of doom, to their acidic demise where they will first drown, then burn up, before being passed through the most horrific tunnels known to mankind...

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

not everything has to be purchased from a big corporation.

go to a local farmers market for fresh stuff with less or no preservatives - including nice spreads.

personally, i practice carbon-neutral twirling: i just hold teh stick and make swishing noises with my mouth*
