Thats right! Poi in the Punt will happen again this year on the earlier date of Saturday 31st May. I have tried to find a date which doesn't clash with anything (much) else to try to get maximum participation and also hopefully a date which will be fixed (i.e. last saturday in May) for the forseeable future.

The day will include a punt trip (funny boat with big stick for those who dont know- see the vid below) on the river cam involving much sillyness and possibly some falling in (yes thats me falling over in the vid redface ).

Theres usually time for a bit of lunch, some spinning in the afternoon followed by a burn and BBQ in the evening. Theres even talk of a tea tasting workshop with a variety of teas all the way from China courtesy of myself and Lazyangel. I'm sure we'll think of a few more as the day approaches too (ideas welcome) biggrin

There will be limited crash space available on the saturday night and if we get a lot of interest we can investigate local campsites to accomodate.

We've had a lot of fun doing PITP the last two years and this year will be no different. Look forward to seeing you there!

I'll post more details as the day approaches. In the mean time I encourage you to post your interest (so we can get an idea of numbers) and take a look at last years vid! weavesmiley

I'm not going to edit the attendance list just yet, but something may have come up at work that'll mean I have to be in Peterborough for the weekend frown

Hopefully not, but I'll post again when I know the details.

Awww frown Seems like it's either 4:30 hours on the train with 3 changes or 5 hours and a bit on buses! I didn't realise how awful Cambridge was to get to from Bristol frown I'd probably be better off flying into Stansted or something frown

*rethinks*

Any chance that someone could give me a lift from London? That's fairly easy to get to and it means I wouldn't have to get up at 5.

Thanks, will check again smile Seems there's a service that doesn't go through London that the trainline didn't bother to list, they probably get money every time they direct someone through the tube system or something.
Will let you know asap - at the moment I'm a bit unsure if I'll be up for coming, might be nice to just sleep for a few days after what's coming up in the next 2 weeks :-/

Less than 2 weeks to go!

We really need to have (as close to) exact numbers for the punting by the end of this week. This is so that Guy can book the punts and work out if we can get a discount. Soo if you are coming in the boats please can you let us know as soon as possible by posting here. If your only able to come for the evening etc thats fine as long as we have numbers for the daytime.

Thanks

Thanks for the offer, steaks! Just figured out that it'd take just as long to do that, I'd have to leave the house at 6.30...

The third time I searched with the same specifications it showed me a better option... if I get to the station at 1, can I still come punting? bounce (Can catch a cab to wherever the boats go from if that's the best plan)

I'm not too bothered about the actual punting to be honest - it messes up my back a fair bit.
I'm quite happy to wander up the path and meet everyone for some spinning wherever you end up stopping

Hey guys - I think I'll be out frown After a bit more research it turns out I can't get there - even with Steaks offering to pick me up in London - in under 4 1/2 hours one way (and for less than 50 quid), which is a bit much for one day of fun. Can't go down on the Friday because of other travel arrangements.

Sorry frown Hopefully see most of you at Southern Lights or elsewhere instead...
