All details are at playfestival.co.uk but here are the basics cause this is just the tease thread, where we want you to chat and not clog up the PLAYnews thread.:

Offworld? what's that then Mike?
It's gonna feel strange being on a different site, i wasn't at Play 05 so i'm used to Fordhall farm. New site looks very nice though and i'll be exploring up that hill at some point biggrin

What the hell is this hippy ban? I spent all day every day last year practicing my contact staff, and attended every workshop i could. And I very much count myself as a hippy. What nonsense is this?
If the fire arts are not open to everyone, if we start segregating ourselves, then all this good feeling and forums and website community stuff is going to crumble. I loved Play Festival for it's openness (I've been every year) but already this thread has put me off going.

I promise you there will be hippies there. even including myself*

Should i have put a smiley on it? i thought it was obvious i was being playful... frown

Apologies. I broke up with a lover that morning after working a night shift. I wasn't at my best, and the break up appeared to take my sense of humour with it.
I'm not usually that dense, I promise.

Well I've had these two sitting in the shopping list section of my bookmarks for a while.

I might be at Offworld, along with any of these.

I love my (kind of) job biggrin

Hmm...

I didn't think I would be going to this a week ago but plans have a habit of changing. I've just got to decide whether I want to go from France to Sweden to England then to Germany or just from France to Germany...

If I'm in England for Play I would also be up for road tripping to EJC if there's enough room

Liverpool Airport is closest by road but if your planning to carry on via train then Birmingham International would be your best bet as the train journey is shorter by about 30 mins. Nearest rail station to Llanfyllin is Welshpool which is still 11 miles from the site (about 20 mins in a car) which might be covered by the play bus if they are running it this year. Alternativly theres a number of buses from Welshpool to Llanfylin. Info can be found here. Hope this helps smile

the website is half up and running. well the home page now says stuff about 2008 instead of 2007. and i think they said the play bus will be running smile

and splinterific, the train station at Llanfyllin in Welshpool is about 60-70 miles west-ish from birmingham..so not really that near... smile

Hello peeps wave

Just a quickie....the website will be functional and tickets on sale by Monday.

No play bus this year, the nearest train station is Welshpool and there's a bus every two hours to Llanfyllin that takes about 35minutes. (We couldn't do our own more than every two hours with the rest/load/unload time required). Not sure how much it is, but it's not very much. And the bus stops right by the festival.

We far easier to get to than you might think given we're in the middle of the Welsh countryside. By car is around 70 miles from Birmingham although the slightly longer route via Welshpool is far quicker.

Tickets are to be über cheap as usual, early birders get a nice discount too of course smile

see you soon kiss hug

Let's relight this forum ubblove

Aside from lack of meat, Wales is a bit far and a lot of hassle for me.
Carrying a tent and my stuff was hard work cos the trains are crap- I had to get 3 different trains before getting the bus. I got a muscle injury doing this & was sore throughout the festival. This didn't stop me spinning and so it took me longer to recover. Had to hang my Poi up for a while:(
Wish Play was nearer but don't want injure myself again.
Lookin 4ward to Poi in the Punt:)
