I have been asked to spin fire at a roller disco event in Leeds and thought it might be fun.

The only problem is I am not that great at roller skating. I can spin poi whilst walking or moving around but im not sure about skating at the same time.

Has anyone ever roller skated/bladed or ice skated whilst spinning fire before?

Icon does - there was a video of him in his thread i seem to remember.

We got asked to do half-time (well, inter-third) entertainment for our local ice hockey team once...

I'm assuming they're closing the rink or roping off an area for you - the risk assesment for that otherwise would be insane...

I've tried once with a staff and it was fine (although I'm pretty sturdy on inline skates)

Wheels of fire ubblol

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

I'd think take a pass on the skates unless you skate as easily as you walk, certainly don't assume they expect you to do it on skates just as it's at a rink.

yeah i've done it...wicked fun! Contact staff is actually surprisingly fun (and easy?) with skates because you can turn in such smooth constant circles...

Yeha i have done it, and it is great fun.
I have also hula hooped on rollerskates which was also lots of fun.

But I have done a lot of skating playing inline hockey and working up to hopefully doing rollerdurby, so i would say pass on the skates if you are not comfortabele because it will affect how good your poi spinning will look.

I seem to remember a vert ramp fire staff video being posted a long time ago... Dunno where you would find it though.
